Overview
The Department of Fundamentals of Jurisprudence at the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies at Al-Qassim University is one of the long-standing departments specializing in this art in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since its inception, it has been partnering with the specialization of jurisprudence since 1396 AH in one department, then separated from it in 1406 AH with a specialized department of its own. The department also offers master's and doctoral programs in Usul al-Fiqh, and the department is filled with professors who are academically competent and well-established in this field of knowledge and administration. The department contributes, along with the rest of the departments of the college, to the study of Usul al-Fiqh in the undergraduate level, In this way, it contributes, along with the other departments of the college, to the qualification of national cadres to fill legal positions, such as legal education, advocacy and guidance, lawyering and judiciary, and investigation and prosecution.
Objectives :
- Enriching Sharia studies in the disciplines undertaken by the department with scientific researches and theses, and realizing heritage manuscripts of outstanding scientific value in those disciplines.
- Working to find researchers specialized in the fundamentals of jurisprudence, rules of jurisprudence, and sharia purposes, who are able to derive sharia rulings from their considered evidence, and adequately qualify them to work on finding sharia solutions derived from the Book and the Sunnah for new facts and issues that arise.
- Special career rehabilitation, by qualifying undergraduate and postgraduate graduates to work in various fields of specialization, such as teaching, judiciary, preaching and counseling.
- Through the courses offered by the department in the various faculties of the university, the department contributes to the education of young people and prepares them legally and mentally, so that they worship God with insight, deal with people in a proper manner, and fulfill their duties in society.
- Contributing to the development of educational curricula and curricula in order to serve the official education goals.
