His Excellency the President of the University was briefed on the exhibition accompanying the "Ataa" program, which included 13 corners to review the university's efforts towards international students and their university life, and the services, programs and activities it provides to them through the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Deanship of Admission and Registration, the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, the Intellectual Awareness Unit, and the Unit for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, in addition to 14 corners that review the heritage and cultures of peoples for scholarship students.
His Excellency the President of Al-Qassim University, Prof. Muhammad bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, sponsored the ceremony of the "Ataa" program for international students, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs on Monday evening, November 18, 2024, on the occasion of the International Day of International Students and to activate the International Day of Tolerance, in the presence of His Excellency the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, and several deans of colleges, at the Olympic Sports Complex in the University City.
His Excellency the UQU President viewed the exhibition accompanying the "Ataa" program, which included 13 corners that reviewed the university's efforts towards international students and their university life, and the services, programs and activities offered to them through the Deanship of Student Affairs, Deanship of Admission and Registration, Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Intellectual Awareness Unit, Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers Unit, as well as 14 corners that addressed the heritage and cultures of peoples presented by scholarship students.
For his part, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Ahmad, said during his speech:
"Today is our appointment with "Ataa" in celebration of two global occasions that carry with them sublime humanitarian messages; the International Day of International Students, and the International Day for Tolerance, and that our country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a country of tolerance and coexistence locally and globally, a country that rejects violence and extremism, promotes dialogue between cultures and peoples, mutual human respect, and fights violence and extremism in all its forms.
Al-Ahmad added:
"The university today includes nearly 100 nationalities who came from around the world, representing two-thirds of the world's geography and they are part of our university community and we live with them under one roof in an atmosphere of tolerance and harmony, and their participation today reflects the beauty of cultural diversity, and enhances the spirit of innovation and cooperation, and we at Qassim University are committed to providing full support to them, and providing an integrated academic environment that helps them achieve their hopes and dreams with knowledge and experiences in order to contribute to building the future of their countries and communities.

International Students
The Department of Scholarships for Non-Saudis at Qassim University is based in its work on the regulation issued by the Council of Ministers No. (94) dated 29/3/1431 AH, and is concerned with the following:
First: Scholarships are divided into two parts:
- Internal scholarships for students residing in the Kingdom of regular residence.
- External scholarships for students outside the Kingdom.
Second: Objectives of the scholarships:
- Teaching the Arabic language, and spreading the culture of moderation and moderation.
- Preparing specialized scientists active in their communities in all disciplines.
- Attracting scientifically distinguished students to achieve diversity and enrich scientific research.
- Establishing scientific and cultural ties with educational institutions, Islamic and scientific bodies and institutions in the world, and documenting them to serve humanity.
- Strengthening solidarity between the Kingdom and the countries of the world.
- Introducing students to the Kingdom and the scientific, economic, political, social and health renaissance it is witnessing.
Third: Admission Requirements:
- Internal and external scholarship students shall be subject to the admission requirements applicable to Saudis in higher education institutions.
- 2. The admission of students of external scholarships requires the following:a. The age of the student shall not be less than (17) years and not more than (25) years for the undergraduate stage and the Institute of Teaching Arabic Language or its equivalent, (30) years for the master's degree, (35) years for the doctoral stage, and the Council of the educational institution may make an exception from that.In. The student allowance government must approve the study in the Kingdom for countries that require this for Saudi students.c. The student should not have received another scholarship from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.W. Certificates and identification papers must be certified by the competent authorities determined by the educational institution.Going to. Not to be dismissed from one of the educational institutions in the Kingdom.And. Not to be dismissed from an educational institution in the Kingdom.g. The student must be accompanied by a mahram in accordance with the regulations governing this, provided that he/she is covered by the scholarship, holds a regular residence permit, or is registered with an employer who needs his/her services.D. To pass the medical examination prescribed by the regulations and instructions.The Council of the educational institution shall set the executive rules governing the admission of scholarship students from within, taking into account the following:
a. The student must obtain the approval of the person who has his record to study in the educational institution.
In. The student must be a regular resident in the Kingdom.
Fifth: Submission of grant applications:
a. The Kingdom's embassies and representations abroad.
In. Higher education institutions in the Kingdom.
Sixth: Procedures for accepting scholarship students:
The Kingdom's embassies and representations abroad shall receive scholarship applications submitted to them in accordance with the principles approved by the Standing Committee formed in the Ministry of Higher Education, and after verifying those applications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall refer them to higher education, provided that this is within the specified periods, and applications for admission will not be accepted, as agreed upon in the Standing Committee.
The Ministry of Higher Education refers the names of students nominated for study to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to complete the initially accepted students by reviewing the Kingdom's representations in their countries to complete the visa procedures.
In the event that scholarship applications are received from abroad to higher education institutions in the Kingdom, the Ministry of Higher Education, after fulfilling the conditions prescribed by law, sends the names of the nominated students to the concerned authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and takes measures in accepting them.
Seventh: Advantages of scholarships.

University announces 5 postdoctoral fellowships in five fields
The Deanship of Scientific Research has announced the availability of five postdoctoral fellowships, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education's Research and Development Program, in the fields of biomedical science, medicinal plants, cancer biology, nanobiotechnology, and vaccine development.
The grants program aims to increase the level of mobility and research activities at the university, and the study of the grants extends from two to three years, with the support and supervision of the Ministry's Research and Development Office, where the training grants cover research materials and other related requirements.
The university invited all those wishing to apply for these scholarships to review the conditions, fill out the application form and attach the required documents via the university's website, as Thursday, 19/12/1439 H will be the deadline for those who meet the conditions and requirements of the scholarships, where the application priority will be for Saudis in most cases, and the applicant must have completed the doctoral degree in the last three years, in addition to proficiency in English language, and the applicant must have obtained a doctoral degree from a university recognized by the Ministry.

The Deanship of Scientific Research has announced that applying for the grants is done according to the general conditions for applying for research group grants, namely:
1- The principal investigator must be a faculty member at the university with an academic degree not lower than assistant professor.
2- A co-researcher from outside the university can be involved.
3- A university faculty member is entitled to participate in two research projects in one research cycle (academic year), provided that he/she is not a principal investigator in more than one research project.
4- The research proposal must not have been previously submitted for support to any other entity and will not be submitted for support to any other entity after the approval of its support, and it must not be a research derived from a master's or doctoral academic thesis or student projects.
5- The research proposal must not exceed the percentage approved by the deanship when testing with the deanship-approved measurement program announced on the website of the Deanship of Scientific Research.
6- The applicant researcher must not have a stalled research according to the stalled conditions determined by the Deanship of Scientific Research.
7- The application is done through the Deanship's electronic program, the Scientific Research Tracking System (RTMS).
8- The research team's reward is paid after submitting the final report on the technical and financial conformity of the research with the scientific publication of two scientific papers within the latest version of the ISI lists of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) databases published by Thomson Reuters.
9- Referring to the support of the Deanship of Scientific Research at Qassim University when publishing the research under its official name Qassim University.
10- Research team bonuses for all grants will be paid according to the Unified Regulations for Scientific Research after the expiration of the contract period and the fulfillment of the conditions for closing the project.
11- The duration of the scholarship is one to two years.
12 The research team should consist of at least three researchers from different and complementary disciplines and different departments or faculties, preferably including graduate students.
13- One of the members of the research team must have previously published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

University launches 'Wa'ed Scholarship' to support new Saudi faculty members
Qassim University, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, has launched a research grant entitled "Promise" for new Saudi faculty members who have not been appointed to the rank of assistant professor for more than one year. This initiative aims to attract them towards a distinguished scientific research environment by providing financial support and a stimulating environment that contributes to enhancing the spirit of competition among researchers.
Dr. Mansour Al-Sharida, Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research, explained that the main objective of the scholarship is to support new researchers at the beginning of their research career, and to enable the university to discover research competencies early to be a main pillar of scientific research in the future. The category of beneficiaries is defined as Saudi lecturers and assistants who have not been promoted to the rank of assistant professor for more than a year.
Al-Sharida explained that the conditions for enrolling in the scholarship include:
The date of the appointment decision at the rank of assistant professor should not exceed one year at the time of submitting the research proposal.
Attach the appointment decision to the proposal.
The research must be new, not derived from a master's or doctoral thesis, and not previously completed in whole or in part.
The researcher's commitment to the research topic within the priorities of the National Plan 2030.
The researcher's commitment to complete the project and obtain the required points for the program, including:
Attend the Scientific Research Ethics Course (20 points).
Attend three specialized or general training courses from the deanship's programs (40 points).
Presenting a workshop to present the results of the project in coordination with the research centers (20 points).
Receive 20 bonus points for publishing a paper in an ISI or Scopus peer-reviewed journal.
Submit the proposal via the RTMS electronic system and sign a contract with the deanship after fulfilling the conditions.
He also explained that the duration of the project is only one year from the date of signing the contract, which cannot be extended.
The program aims to raise the level of research activity at the university, with the support and supervision of the Research and Development Office at the Ministry of Education.
The university concluded by inviting those wishing to apply to review the conditions and fill out the application form on the university website, indicating that the deadline for application is Thursday 19/12/1439 H. The priority in admission is mostly for Saudis, provided that it has not been more than three years since they obtained their doctorate, with proficiency in the English language, and that the certificate must be issued by a university recognized by the Ministry of Education.
