Bottom financial quintile admission target

Qassim University is committed to admitting students who fall into the bottom 20% of household income in the Kingdom. It sets an admission target of 100% for qualified applicants from this group: in line with the Deanship of Admission and Registration’s objective of “facilitating a seat in the university for each student who meets the conditions of admission”, every applicant who meets the academic admission criteria is offered a place. The University’s admissions policy also allows positive discrimination for students from economically disadvantaged communities, based on criteria that include socio-economic background. As a public university, Qassim University offers free undergraduate education to all enrolled students, both Saudi and international. Every regular student also receives a monthly allowance of SAR 1,000 (scientific majors) or SAR 850 (arts and humanities), so household income is not a barrier to admission.
