His Excellency the President of the University sponsors the "Ataa" program for international students

His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharaikh, sponsored the «Ataa» program ceremony for international students, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, on the evening of Monday, November 18, 2024. This was in celebration of International Students Day and in activation of International Tolerance Day. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Ahmed, and deans of several colleges, at the Olympic Sports Complex in the university city.

His Excellency the President of the University reviewed the exhibition accompanying the «Ataa» program, which included 13 booths. The booths showcased the university's efforts towards international students and their university life, as well as the services, programs, and activities offered to them through the Deanship of Student Affairs, the Deanship of Admissions and Registration, the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, the Intellectual Awareness Unit, and the Arabic Language Teaching Unit for Non-Native Speakers. In addition, there were 14 booths displaying the heritage and cultures of peoples from scholarship students.

On his part, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, said in his speech: “Today, we meet with ”giving' to celebrate two international occasions that carry noble humanitarian messages; the International Day of Students and the International Day for Tolerance. Our country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, is a country of tolerance and coexistence, locally and globally. It is a country that rejects violence and extremism, promotes dialogue between cultures and peoples, and mutual human respect, while combatting violence and extremism in all its forms.".

Al-Ahmad added: “The university today includes nearly 100 nationalities from all over the world, representing two-thirds of the globe's geography, and they are part of our university community. We live together under one roof in an atmosphere of tolerance and harmony. Their participation with us today reflects the beauty of cultural diversity and enhances the spirit of innovation and cooperation. We at Qassim University are also committed to providing them with full support and an integrated academic environment that helps them achieve their hopes and dreams through knowledge and experience, so that they can contribute to building the future of their homelands and societies.”.

At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the President of the University honored a number of distinguished students who have achieved national awards, participated in various university programs and activities, and represented the university in a number of local and international competitions.
