Institutional Rights and Grievance

Qassim University (QU) provides comprehensive institutional protection for all staff, replacing non-permitted unions with a structured legal and ethical framework. This system begins with mandatory adherence to the Civil Service System and the Charter of Rights and Ethics. The Employee Handbook formalizes internal grievance procedures, ensuring fair treatment and clear pathways for complaints. Crucially, any unresolved matter must first undergo Amicable Settlement, promoting early, mediated resolution. Failing this, employees have external recourse to the Administrative Grievance Board or independent Labor Courts. For international and female staff, the law guarantees specific protections, including mandatory written contracts and protection against arbitrary dismissal through clear termination grounds. Furthermore, QU is legally required to cover the costs of expat visa/Iqama fees and provide health insurance. This entire system is underpinned by a commitment to equality and non-discrimination for all employees.
