Qassim University celebrates Environment Week
Qassim University participates in the initiative of His Highness the Emir of the Qassim Region “Green Land of Qassim”
The President of Qassim University, Prof. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, has launched the 18th phase of the “Green Qassim” initiative—an endeavor spearheaded by the Governor of the Qassim Region. As part of this phase, the university aims to plant 13,000 trees and shrubs across its main campus, with the goal of expanding vegetation cover and promoting environmental sustainability. The launch was attended by the Director-General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture’s Qassim branch, Eng. Salman bin Jarallah Al-Suwainea, and the Director-General of the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification’s Qassim branch, Eng. Ali Asiri.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between Qassim University and the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Nature Reserve Development Authority, covering the fields of scientific research and environmental awareness.

The university participated, represented by the Center for Sustainable Development, in the «First Al-Qassim International Environmental Forum», which is being held over two days at the King Khalid Cultural Center in the city of Buraydah.
