Mental Health Support for Staff
Qassim University provides its faculty members and staff with free access to mental health support, through free psychiatric outpatient clinics at the College of Medicine and counselling, diagnosis and treatment services at the Department of Psychology clinics, alongside university activities that promote good mental health for staff and students.
“Amal” mental health programme: 450 programmes for students and staff, and 100% in the national classification for the third consecutive year
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ajlan, announced that Qassim University’s “Amal” programme for promoting mental health comprises 450 awareness programmes for students and staff. The programme builds on the University achieving 100% in the classification of the National Center for Mental Health Promotion for the third consecutive year. Through “Amal”, the Deanship of Student Affairs offers students and employees activities that raise awareness of mental health and develop the skills that support psychological well-being.
Free psychiatric outpatient clinics for faculty and staff – Department of Psychiatry
The Department of Psychiatry of the College of Medicine runs psychiatric outpatient clinics and receives referrals from other departments. The clinics are free of charge for faculty members and staff (and students), giving employees direct access to specialist mental health support. The University Hospital at Qassim University Medical City also has a Department of Psychiatry providing diagnosis and treatment.
“Arshidni” Consultations Unit – Guidance and Counselling Administration, Deanship of Student Affairs
The Guidance and Counselling Administration at the Deanship of Student Affairs includes the Consultations Unit “Arshidni”, which receives consultation requests from staff and students of the university and refers them to specialised counsellors in psychological, family, social, intellectual and career counselling. The unit schedules sessions with clients, the counsellor prepares a detailed report for each case, and all information received by the unit is kept strictly confidential. The counsellors also set an annual operational plan for the unit, prepare and publish questionnaires on the conditions of female students in the colleges, provide educational and developmental messages, and submit periodic reports on achievements, statistics and challenges. The unit contacts counsellors and clients to remind them of session times and prepares a suitable environment for providing private consultations to university staff.
Department of Psychology Clinics
Providing specialized psychological and counseling services to university employees, both male and female students, and citizens outside the university, including counseling, guidance, diagnosis, and treatment.
