Overview
The first start of the department was in 1405 A.H. It was affiliated to the College of Arabic and Social Sciences at the branch of Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Qassim, then the Royal Decree was issued to establish Qassim University in 1425 A.H. The Department of Education and Psychology was affiliated to the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies, then the Royal Decree was issued to establish the College of Education in 1429 A.H. One of its departments is the Department of Psychology, then after the adoption of the new university structure, the department moved to join the College of Languages and Humanities.

Objectives :
- Preparing qualified psychologists – psychologically, socially, and educationally – to work in various professional fields of psychology in schools, educational institutions, psychological and social care institutions such as institutions for people with special needs, addiction treatment centers, and mental health hospitals.
- Conducting joint theoretical and applied research with various stakeholders to contribute to the development of psychological, social, and educational services.
- Enriching psychological knowledge and providing appropriate solutions for psychological, behavioral, and social problems.
- Presenting psychology courses in light of deepening Islamic concepts and encouraging authorship in this field.
- Providing specialized psychological and counseling consultations and services to university employees and students, as well as to citizens outside the university whom they deem appropriate, including counseling, guidance, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Contributing to raising the level of individual efficiency by providing training courses in various psychological fields through public lectures, based on invitations extended to them by various entities, whether governmental or non-governmental, achieving these goals.
- Contributing to the preparation of students in all other academic departments at the university, and their program includes studying psychology courses as part of their scientific, practical, and professional preparation.
- Offering quality graduate programs in various psychology specializations.
