University launches psychological support initiative for health practitioners

The university, represented by the College of Medicine, announced the launch of an initiative under the slogan "Psychological Support for Health Practitioners in the Qassim Region" in light of the Corona pandemic. The initiative is presented by a number of specialists and consultants from the Psychiatry Department, under the supervision of the college's Community Service Unit. The initiative will be implemented remotely for 3 days, from 10:00 PM to 12:00 AM, from June 22-24, 2020, via Zoom.

This initiative aims to provide mental health counseling specifically for healthcare practitioners in the region, offering them psychological support and alleviating the effects of the psychological and professional pressures they have experienced since the beginning of the novel coronavirus pandemic at the start of this year. They were at the forefront of confronting this pandemic and implementing the preventive measures and precautionary actions taken by the Kingdom's government to face this crisis.

The initiative begins on Monday, June 22, 2020, with psychological support consultations for healthcare practitioners with Dr. Mohammed Al-Humaid, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. The psychological support consultations continue on Tuesday, June 23, 2020, with Dr. Abdullah Al-Qaffari, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry. On the third and final day, Dr. Sumaya Al-Johani, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry, provides a number of psychological consultations to help healthcare practitioners in the region overcome the psychological effects and provide psychological support during this pandemic.
