The University Introduces Visitors to the Contents of its Paper and Electronic Library at the Qassim Book Fair

The university participates in the second Qassim Book Fair held at the International Exhibition and Convention Center with a pavilion that provides an introduction to the visitors of the exhibition of the contents of the university library from paper and electronic sources of information. 
The number of books in the university library is estimated at 553.586 titles, while the number of periodicals and volumes reaches 14.110, in addition to 2834 university theses, and 25 rare manuscripts, and on the electronic side, the library embraces more than 146 databases, 310.963 electronic periodicals, 51.422 electronic books, and 1.824.480 electronic university theses. 
The university’s participation is represented in displaying and selling its publications of books and scientific journals, in addition to displaying the writings of faculty members, as well as introducing the university and its electronic services through the Deanship of Library Affairs, which include databases, electronic programs, documentation programs, plagiarism detection programs, periodicals classification programs and other electronic programs that serve the university’s employees. 
For his part, the Dean of the Deanship of Library Affairs at the university, Dr. Sattam Al-Otaibi, confirmed that the university is keen on community participation in the Science and Knowledge Oasis represented in the Book Fair, where the efforts of the university and its employees are reviewed through the special pavilion participating in the exhibition, by introducing visitors to the number of branch libraries at the university, the number of research published in university journals and the number of supported research, in addition to the number of university theses and manuscripts and the number of graduate programs in all faculties of the university (master’s and doctorate) through the drawings shown on Sides of the university pavilion. 
Al-Otaibi added that the university was keen to make its pavilion in this year’s exhibition one of the best and most attractive pavilions for visitors, interested people and intellectuals by displaying a group of faculty members and refereed scientific journals in all its parts.

The University’s Main Facilities

The University has many facilities, including but not limited to the following:

  • Faculties, including laboratories, workshops, lecture halls and office rooms for university employees, both in the University dorms in Milidah or in the other branches.
  • Buildings of senior management and buildings for deanships and departments.
  • Library building and branch libraries that provide services to all employees of the university.
  • The University Hospital Building, an integral medical facility that is part of the Medical City in the University City in Milidah, which will provide services to University employees and the community members, in addition to the general and specialized medical clinics currently operating, which provide health care services for all university staff including students, faculty and staff.
  • A residential city for students with integrated service facilities such as restaurants, prayer rooms, dining rooms, resting and break rooms.
  • University housing for faculty members.
  • Sports City, which includes a range of facilities and cultural, social and sports facilities implemented using new modern designs and provides a full range of playgrounds and services for employees of the university students and faculty members and staff.

The total area of these facilities is (89800 m2) and it costed 89 million Saudi riyals, and built using the latest models of construction and equipped on a high level to serve the employees of the Qassim University Deanship of Student Affairs.

Rules and Regulations for Using Facilities

Rationalization of the use of facilities at the University is organized through a mechanism of several stages, and can be listed as follows: 
The First Stage: the stage of examining the applications and making sure that whatever
is requested is not already presence in the university. 
The Second Stage: Continuous work to rationalize the use of facilities. The facilities management at the University has an important role in the organization and rationalization of the use of university facilities, in accordance with the functions of the facilities management mentioned above. 
With the aim of rationalization and effective use, the university and colleges assign management of their farms, laboratories, medical clinics and sports and cultural facilities to specialized departments, including administrative and technical leaders, in order to rationalize and ensure efficient management and use of all the facilities. The university is also keen to utilize the university facilities such as laboratories and quality halls, etc., to make the best use of these facilities and to disseminate them, and to regulate the use of these facilities and equipment by all university employees and external bodies through agreements that achieve financial return. The university is also guiding the spending process with economic plans to provide equipment through alternatives to the process of procurement such as leasing and implementation of services such as landscaping, cleaning and transport by contracting with specialized companies. 
The Third Stage: training the users of the equipment in order to achieve the maximum benefit from this equipment. The University concludes all contracts for supplying equipment, on a condition that the supplier will provide training sessions on how to use and operate the equipment to those who will be using the equipment in the university. 
In addition to the above requirements obligated on the suppliers for providing training on their equipment, the academic sequence system enables colleges to arrange for the experienced professors to convey their expertise and train the staff assisting faculty members and new faculty members on the use of equipment from laboratories and others, through lectures and joint classroom activities. The University shall establish regulations for the use of facilities, including:

  • Some facilities are limited to the use of some university employees.
  • Some utilities use time controls.
  • Some facilities are used with financial controls.
  • Some facilities are available to all university staff

Student Housing Department

The university housing for students within the university city is one of the basic components of the university city and is important to provide the appropriate and comfortable atmosphere for students to continue their university studies easily, motivate them to excel scientifically, and use their free time and benefit from it for their benefit and benefit through the services provided by the university to them within the university city that are easy for the student to reach.

His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, Rector of Qassim University, inaugurated the ceremony of the Festival of Peoples’ Heritage and the conclusion of student activities for the year 1439 AH in the main lobby on Monday morning, 23 of Rajab 1439 AH, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs represented by the Department of Student Housing with the participation of 25 countries from different countries of the world, where each country represented 5 students of internal and external scholarships to display their products and popular foods and a window of landmarks and civilization of their countries. 
The exhibition witnessed the participation of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Afghanistan, Kosovo, Bosnia, Pakistan, Yemen, China, Tunisia, Albania, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Benin, India, Guinea, India, Malawi, Turkey and Chad, and with the participation of 125 students in the exhibition, and the scholarship students presented a sign expressing their thanks to the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for giving them the opportunity to study in Saudi Arabia at the time when the participating students presented popular presentations representing their countries. 
Al-Daoud spoke about his sincere thanks for all the work and efforts of students, faculty members and participants in the Festival of Peoples’ Heritage or Student Activities, which brings together the various departments and colleges of the university with continuous work and thoughtful planning and the Deanship of Student Affairs is always present in the scientific and cultural curricula and extra-curricular activities and have achieved awards and championships for the university, the most prominent of which is the first place in the championship of the Federation of Saudi Universities Futsal and other distinctive things.

He added that Hajj and Umrah are one of the most prominent images of the values of moderation because of their intimacy and love, security and safety among Muslims, in addition to the Kingdom’s endeavor to consolidate the values of moderation and civilizational coexistence through the holding of a number of conferences, meetings and workshops in this field, and its efforts to many efforts that support such a thing, including the establishment of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, whose services include all countries of the world in need and affected, asking God to perpetuate love among Muslims, and to reconcile the participants. The Rector of the University thanked and thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince for the unlimited support received by the University, and to His Highness the Amir of Qassim for honoring and encouraging the various activities of the University, as well as to the colleagues in charge of preparing and organizing this conference, especially in this organizing committee headed by His Excellency Dr. Khalid bin Bani Al-Harbi, Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, and to colleagues in the Scientific Committee headed by the colleague Fadila Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, Dr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Aba Al-Khail, And all colleagues in different departments. 
After that, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference, Prof. Dr. Khalid Bani Al-Harbi, Vice President for Planning, Development and Quality, spoke about the countries that write their history with their values of goodness to this world, where the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has established solid bases since its establishment by the late His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman, where the Kingdom has accompanied Islam in a methodology, practice and even politics and education and has been actively practicing its leaders until the era of the patron of our renaissance, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Wali. His faithful covenant, may Allah bless them, and it establishes the principles of understanding and civilizational acquaintance in its holistic concept, in all the joints of life, human and entity, deriving all this from the legitimate and cultural approach to it, which expresses a clear and sincere expression of the reality of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that we are living in today, pointing out that the university has attached great importance to this aspect in recognition of its strategic role, which embodies the aspirations of our dear Kingdom, and as an embodiment of this role, the university has adopted a number of academic activities, the most important of which is the establishment of this scientific meeting. Qualitative in nature, which came to highlight some of the Kingdom’s many and diverse efforts. 
Al-Harbi added that the scientific committee led by Dr. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Aba Al-Khail, Dean of the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the University, has received many abstracts and research ideas since the announcement of the organization of the conference, and this work has resulted in the participation of more than 9 countries with about 30 participating researchers in a number of qualitative research works to cover the themes and objectives of the conference, and we have had the conciliation of God in this forum with a partner for success represented by the strategic partner His Excellency Sheikh Mansour bin Ali Al-Qaraawi, he has from us thanks and praise The greatest of all, and the most appreciated for the constructive and fruitful cooperation to which we are accustomed and we look forward to the continuation of this qualitative partnership on several occasions. 
The Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference thanked the participating parties, namely: the Center for Intellectual Warfare at the Ministry of Defense, the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, the General Directorate for Combating Extremism headed by State Security, and the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, as well as the relevant cooperating parties for what they provided to make this conference a success. 
H.E. Dr. Osama Al-Sayed Al-Azhari, Advisor to the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, delivered a speech on behalf of the conference participants in which he spoke about the Kingdom’s great efforts in the field of moderation and coexistence, including the Muslim World League, which was established sixty years ago and has continued for decades as an incubator for Muslim scholars from the Levant and Morocco to study major issues of concern to Muslims, and the King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Center for Dialogue among Followers of Religions and Cultures, which was established in 2010 by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Republic of Austria and the Kingdom of Spain, along with the Vatican as an observer founding member, add the Global Center for Countering Extremism “Etidal”, which was established in 2017 and whose mission is to counter extremism, root out it, confront it and promote tolerance and coexistence among peoples. 
Al-Azhari added that among the Kingdom’s tireless efforts in this field is the Makkah document, which was signed in Ramadan of 1440 AH, on the sidelines of the International Conference on the Values of Moderation and Moderation organized by the Muslim World League in the Kingdom, which stipulated the fight against terrorism, injustice and oppression, the rejection of the violation of human rights and dignity, the rooting of the values of moderation and coexistence between different religions, cultures, races and sects in the Islamic world, as well as pointed to the generous sponsorship by the Kingdom of the major Islamic scientific schools that She spent centuries consolidating the values of moderation such as Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and others, concluding a speech on behalf of the guests of the conference with wishes for success, success and repayment to all, and wishing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the land of Kinana Egypt, and our homelands security, prosperity and prosperity. 
Finally, a visual film about the conference was presented about the objectives and vision of the conference, and then His Highness the Amir of the Qassim region honored the participants.
