H.H. the Emir of Qassim inaugurates the university's driving school in the presence of the university president and the director general of traffic in the Kingdom.

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, inaugurated today, Monday, the «University Driving School» in the University City in Al-Mulaida, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, and Major General Mohammed Al-Bassami, Director of the General Traffic Department. His Highness also launched the school's online registration website. The school is located on an area of 55,000 square meters and includes over 20 traffic skills. Forty Saudi female driving instructors have been qualified. This school is the first of its kind in the Al-Qassim region and the seventh in the Kingdom. His Highness then inaugurated the school building upon his arrival at the site, after which he conducted an inspection tour of the school, where he observed the simulation devices, the hospital section, the traffic section, the children's nursery, and the school's facilities. His Highness also handed over the car keys to the instructors.

 

 

 

In his remarks following the opening of the Leadership School, His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim expressed his gratitude, appreciation, and joy at this great cultural achievement, saying: "I am proud to be among my fellow countrymen who work day and night to achieve this milestone. The uniqueness of this school lies in its 100% localization, which is a source of pride for the region. When the cultural projects directed by His Majesty the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and the implementation is carried out by the women of our nation, who are executing this project with the highest level of competence.".

 

 

 

His Highness added: "Upon reviewing this school, I saw the simulators, simulation devices, nursery, and service providers, and the proximity of the hospital to the trainees. All of this is a cause for pride. Perhaps such advanced devices and technology are not available in our sisterly Arab countries that have preceded us in experience. I am immensely proud. I extend my thanks to His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood." He continued, "What makes me proud of such an achievement is that it is by the hands of our daughters and sisters, the daughters of the nation, who hold fast to their principles and their modesty, and to obeying God and what He has commanded of modesty. They are keen on reward so that they may become role models for the daughters of the nation. This is what enables them to participate in the development process, from driving cars and working and empowering them to work. We have made great strides in the region in empowering women.".

 

 

 

The university president affirmed in his speech following the school's opening that the university's participation in establishing this school, which was inaugurated today, is proof that this prestigious university seeks to serve the nation in various fields. The initiative stemmed from the context of the Vision 2030 initiatives and the empowerment of Saudi women in community service, expressing the pride of the university staff in the patronage and opening by His Highness the Esteemed Governor of the region of the leadership school, which was built in just a few months from the inception of the idea to the start of construction, then recruitment, leading to today's inauguration and the commencement of training.

 

 

 

The university president said: "Saudi nationalization was our primary focus in establishing this school, and we strive to ensure that the school is run entirely by Saudis, with the guidance of God Almighty, and with the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman —may God protect them—and with the support and encouragement of His Highness the Governor of the region, as well as his continuous follow-up and motivation. His presence here today and the inauguration of the school are proof of that," noting that the opening of this school will contribute to supporting the Kingdom’s vision of empowering Saudi women to fulfill their national and societal roles with competence.

 

 

 

adding that the Director of Traffic in the Kingdom confirmed that Qassim University School is considered the most distinguished at the level of schools in the Kingdom, surpassing in distinction schools seen in some countries around the world.

 

 

 

"Al-Dawood" thanked the General Department of Traffic, led by His Excellency Major General Mohammed Al-Bassami, stressing that the great work accomplished at this school is the result of the integrated efforts of a team for the past 8 months. It is not hidden from specialists that such work typically requires two years to come to fruition with these specifications. He extended his thanks to all university employees and traffic officials.

 

 

 

For his part, Major General Muhammad Al-Bassami, Director General of Traffic, praised the University Driving School, confirming that it is the most distinguished driving school in the Kingdom and surpasses schools seen in some countries around the world. He offered his thanks to His Highness the Prince of the region for his patronage, to His Excellency the President of the university, and to all employees for this achievement, which is a source of pride for us at the national level. He noted that this school has been added to the series of driving schools in the Kingdom, and indicated that there will be a rollout of a series of schools in the coming months. He emphasized that what we witnessed today of wonderful components, a field that accommodates 20 skills and can be expanded, and skilled Saudi female instructors is a living achievement created to train the daughters of our nation, and this is the true gain and a source of pride for the nation.

 

 

 

Al-Bassami expected that the outcomes of this school would reflect on the level of behavior, quality, and outputs in the coming days. He pointed out that the school empowers girls in the Al-Qassim region to teach and learn in a wonderful educational environment. He affirmed his happiness on this day and expected that the school would reflect on the cadres capable of driving vehicles in the coming days. He indicated that Qassim University accepted the request of the General Directorate of Traffic to establish this school, and it was implemented in a record time by an inspiring and wonderful team, to whom he offers all thanks and gratitude for this initiative.

 

 

 

The school principal, Professor Ruqayyah bint Sulaiman Al-Saqiah, gave a speech on this occasion, saying: "On this day, we are proud to launch one of the fruits of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which has been led by our rulers, may God protect and guide them to good deeds, with the aim of empowering Saudi women and involving them in the building and development of this generous nation.".

 

The director of the driving school confirmed that the patronage of His Highness the Emir of the region for the ceremony comes undoubtedly from his belief in strengthening the role of women in the region. She expressed her thanks on behalf of her colleagues and the daughters of Qassim to His Highness for sharing their joy with them. She also thanked His Excellency the Vice President for his interest and support for them, asking God to perpetuate goodness upon this country.
