Qassim University Medical City has witnessed the first robotic knee replacement surgery for a patient who suffered from severe grade 4 knee arthritis.
The operation was performed using the Robotic Total Knee Arthroplasty system, one of the latest advanced surgical systems, which provides a high level of precision in planning and execution during surgery, which contributes to improving joint replacement results, increasing the efficiency of the surgical procedure, minimizing blood loss, and accelerating the recovery period, helping the patient regain mobility in a shorter time compared to traditional surgeries.
The medical team was led by Dr. Abdullah Al-Shahrani, Consultant Orthopedic and Joint Surgeon, with the participation of the anesthesia team led by Dr. Omar Al-Misnad, Consultant Anesthesiologist, in addition to the auxiliary nursing staff.
The operation is a new step in the development of surgical services in the medical city, reflecting its readiness to implement modern technologies within the healthcare system.
