These activities are critical in addressing water scarcity, enhancing resilience to climate change, reducing environmental impact, and demonstrating the university’s leadership in sustainability. In ground water extraction processes, Qassim University implement a groundwater extraction protocols aligned with environmental thresholds. In addition, Qassim University use and implement smart water meters and real-time monitoring systems for water sources. In order to minimize reliance on groundwater, the implemented water system in the university include rainwater harvesting and reuse systems

To raise environmental awareness, the Department of Media and Communication at Qassim University has created an awareness video on YouTube about the Qassim University Environmental Awareness Initiative, which discusses the vegetation cover at Qassim University.

Qassim University supports 10 research projects worth 1.5 million riyals, including roads and water.

Qassim University announced the provision of (10) research grants worth more than one and a half million riyals, which are being carried out by 46 researchers, in order to serve development in the region. The research grants provided by the university include several vital fields, foremost among which are the field of roads and transportation, the field of water and environment, the field of animal production, and the field of plant protection.
