His Excellency the President of Al-Qassim University, Professor Dr. Muhammad bin Fahd Al-Sharkh, launched today, Sunday, October 18, 2026, the eighteenth phase of the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mashal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Amir of the Al-Qassim Region, «Al-Qassim Land Green,» in conjunction with the national planting program within the Saudi Green Initiative.

The inauguration was held in the presence of the Director General of the Branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Al-Qassim Region, Engineer Salman bin Jarallah Al-Sweene, the Vice Rector for Financial and Technical Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Saawi, and the Director General of the Branch of the National Center for Plant Cover Development and Desertification Control in Al-Qassim, Engineer Ali bin Yahya Al-Esseri.

During this phase, the university aims to plant 13 thousand trees and shrubs, as part of its efforts to develop the vegetation cover and promote environmental sustainability, which contributes to supporting the objectives of the Saudi Vision 2030, and enhances the role and leadership of the university in the environmental field, within the Saudi Green Initiative.
