His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, received in his office at the emirate headquarters in the city of Buraidah, the President of Qassim University, Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharkh, along with a number of university leaders and the winners of the cultural competition for the digital library of HRH Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal, which was organized by the university in partnership with the region's emirate.
His Highness honored the male and female winners of the competition, including: Midad Al-Suwailem, Musab Al-Fowzan, Reef Al-Hanishil, Reef Al-Hassan, Ayad Al-Tami, Fatima Bazheeb, Lama Al-Suhaibani, Fatima Al-Mutairi, Sirine bint Saleh Aba Al-Khail, and Ghala Al-Harbi, in appreciation of their excellence and participation in the competition.
His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim Region emphasized that reading represents a fundamental pillar in building human beings and developing their awareness, contributing to broadening horizons and refining intellectual and creative capabilities. He pointed out the importance of motivating members of society, especially youth, toward reading, research, and exploration, and instilling the concept of continuous learning.
His Highness noted the importance of digital libraries in providing knowledge, expanding access to cultural and cognitive content, and utilizing technology to encourage reading. He emphasized that cultural competitions are an effective way to transform reading from an individual practice into a cognitive and competitive movement that contributes to building a more aware generation connected to books and knowledge.
His Royal Highness the Emir of Qassim Region praised the efforts of Qassim University in organizing the competition and activating the cognitive and cultural partnership with the regional principality, emphasizing the importance of continuing and developing such programs, and reaching wider segments of society to enhance the cultural and cognitive movement in the region.
For his part, the President of Qassim University expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Governor of Qassim Region for his interest in cultural and knowledge initiatives and his support for the university and its students. He emphasized that His Highness's honoring of the winners serves as an incentive to continue reading, achieving excellence, and participating in cultural programs, and contributes to enhancing the presence of knowledge in society.
