His Excellency the President of Qassim University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, received His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Council of Senior Scholars, the Secretary-General of the Standing Committee for Fatwas, and the General Supervisor of the Office of His Eminence the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Dr. Fahad bin Saad Al-Majed, today, Thursday, April 23, 2026. This meeting was held as part of strengthening scientific and knowledge cooperation between academic institutions and religious bodies, in the presence of the university vice presidents at the main campus in the university city.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the University welcomed His Excellency, praising the scientific and religious role undertaken by the Council of Senior Scholars in serving Islamic Sharia, spreading the approach of moderation and balance, and enhancing religious awareness in society.
During the meeting, ways of joint cooperation in the fields of scientific research and Sharia studies were discussed, in addition to supporting programs and initiatives that contribute to qualifying scientific competencies and developing educational outcomes in a way that serves the nation and keeps pace with development goals.
On his part, His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Fahd bin Saad Al-Majed expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the President of the University, praising the distinguished efforts made by the university in the fields of education and scientific research, emphasizing that Saudi universities represent a fundamental pillar in building scientific and religious awareness, and preparing qualified competencies to serve religion and the nation.
He added: The integration between scientific and fatwa-issuing bodies contributes to enhancing the quality of scientific outputs and delivering correct fatwas based on the Book and Sunnah, according to the understanding of the righteous predecessors.
At the end of the visit, both sides affirmed the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation to achieve common goals, contribute to serving society, and promote the scientific mission.
