Qassim University has achieved a new milestone by winning the National Volunteer Work Award for 2025, in the Entities category – Volunteer Work Support branch. This award is a culmination of its institutional efforts and qualitative practices in supporting and empowering volunteer work within the university and in the community.
The university's achievement of this award was announced during the International Non-Profit Sector Forum in Riyadh, organized by the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development. The university was honored by His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al-Rajhi. The award was received on behalf of the university president by the Vice President for Financial and Technical Affairs, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Saouee, in the presence of His Excellency the CEO of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, Mr. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Suwailem.
The university's victory came as a result of its institutional efforts in building an advanced volunteer system, which included adopting a volunteer unit within the administrative structure, approving specialized job descriptions, activating modern electronic systems for managing volunteer operations and documenting volunteer hours through accredited platforms, in addition to developing policies and procedural guides governing volunteer work.
The university also enhanced the capabilities of its staff through advanced training programs for employees and volunteers, and annual motivational and recognition programs that contribute to improving performance efficiency and the sustainability of volunteer work within the university's various departments.
The university has distinguished itself by implementing comprehensive health and awareness initiatives and campaigns, which included providing direct field services to the community through its health colleges, such as: therapeutic convoys, mobile clinics, early detection programs, and health education, in addition to environmental and social awareness campaigns, quality of life improvement initiatives in cities and villages, and participation in national campaigns and the Saudi Green Initiative.
These initiatives have provided thousands of volunteer opportunities for students and university staff, ranging from providing health services, preventive guidance, organizing events, preparing awareness content, and participating in field campaigns, which has strengthened the university's community impact and raised the level of volunteer participation across various disciplines.
The National Volunteer Award is an annual award supervised by the National Center for Non-profit Sector Development. It aims to promote a culture of volunteering and enhance the quality of volunteer practices in the Kingdom. Launched in 2020, it serves the community and aims to increase the number of volunteers to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
