In the framework of its continuous digital excellence and leadership in digital education, Qassim University has achieved several national accomplishments and partnerships simultaneously. These include being awarded the Innovation in E-Learning and Training Award in the «Impact Creation» track for «Open Educational Resources,» achieving the highest level for the second consecutive year in the results of the "National Digital Learning Index" for 2024-2025, and its partnership in the "Universities Coalition" initiative.
The university was crowned with the Innovation Award during the ceremony organized by the National Center for E-Learning on Wednesday evening, December 31, 2025, in Riyadh. The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for E-Learning, Professor Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Banyan, His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, and a number of leaders from educational and training institutions in Riyadh.
The university's achievement of the award is a result of its efforts in employing emerging technologies to develop digital educational solutions. The university has also become the leading educational institution among public, private, and non-profit sectors in the Kingdom, offering over 14,000 educational resources through its Open Educational Resources platform (OREx), affiliated with the National Center for E-learning. The Innovation Award aims to enhance the quality of e-learning and e-training practices, highlight the university's efforts in providing lifelong learning opportunities, develop human capabilities and skills, and showcase the best successful and innovative practices in the e-learning sector.
In recognition of its excellence in adopting sustainable digital technologies and integrating digital learning practices within its educational environment, the university has achieved, for the second consecutive year, the highest level in the results of the «National Digital Learning Index» for 2024-2025, issued by the National Center for E-learning. This index is a national tool for measuring the maturity of digital learning and training in government entities. It measures the level of compliance, the quality of digital learning practices, innovation, and technology sustainability, thereby granting continuously progressing entities a leading position in digital learning.
The university's joining of the «Universities Coalition» initiative came as part of its efforts to develop joint programs and courses, activate the exchange of faculty members, and share digital educational resources, which enhances the efficient investment of institutional capabilities in the e-learning system and promotes educational opportunities for various groups.
Qassim University's participation highlights its role as an active partner through its qualitative contributions and distinguished expertise, which enhances the level of institutional integration among universities.
