His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, honored the winners of the "Volunteering Impact: It Passed and Left a Lasting Impression" competition, which was held in cooperation with the Youth Impact Council under the "Misk for Community" track. The ceremony was attended by the Vice President for Financial and Technical Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Saawi, and the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd Al-Ahmad, this morning, Monday, May 6, 2024, at the main campus in the university city.
Where various university departments participated in the competition to implement the best volunteer opportunity on Saudi and International Volunteer Day, with initiatives being judged and winners nominated by the "Misk" Foundation.
His Excellency the University President honored the branch of the university in Riyadh Al Khubara Governorate, the winner of the first place through the initiative to furnish libraries in the Buraidah Prison Administration (Libraries of Goodness and Perpetuity), and the College of Nursing, which came in second place through the exhibition "Her Health is Life." His Excellency also honored the College of Engineering at the university branch in Unaizah Governorate, which won third place by implementing the application for sharing surplus personal belongings (Waffer). Fourth place went to the College of Applied Medical Sciences at the university branch in Al-Rass Governorate with its initiative on awareness of primary plastic recycling and reducing its use in the college. Fifth place was obtained by the College of Business and Economics at the university headquarters in Al-Rass Governorate by implementing a workshop titled "Towards a Smart Decision Tree to Assist People with Special Needs." His Excellency the University President also honored 38 Volunteer Ambassadors in appreciation of their efforts.
Nineteen university entities (faculty and staff) from various cities and governorates of Qassim participated in the competition, with 45 volunteers. Six thousand beneficiaries (male and female) benefited from the volunteer services provided in one day. This competition aims to motivate university entities and their affiliates to engage in volunteer work, develop and empower volunteers to give and achieve, showcase their energies and talents, spread and promote the culture and behavior of volunteer work in the community, encourage the innovation of volunteer ideas and their utilization in serving the community, and develop the efficiency of teamwork in volunteering.
