His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Al-Qassim region, sponsored on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, the celebration of Al-Qassim University on the occasion of the 93rd National Day. The university organized the celebration at the Conference Center in the University City, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Semmari, Advisor at the Royal Court and Secretary-General of the King Abdulaziz Foundation, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Daoud, President of the University, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Sa'wai, Vice President of the University, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Khalid Bani Al-Harbi, Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, His Excellency Dr. Fahd bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and a number of university council members, staff, and students.

On his part, His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, affirmed during his speech at the ceremony that the ninety-third National Day comes to remind us of those glorious historic moments that our dear Kingdom has witnessed, and to celebrate the renewal of love and loyalty to this giving nation and its wise leadership – may God protect them. It is also a day to experience feelings of joy, pride, and honor, sensing the importance of that pivotal date when the founder, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud – may God have mercy on him – announced the unification of the country under the name of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under one banner in 1351 AH. People gathered after division and united after discord in a historic unity that can only be achieved by heroes. He pointed out that he, along with a select group of the nation’s sons, was able to present an epic of construction and development, which culminated in the establishment of a great united state, where a noble people live under the shade of one banner, becoming a state of dignity and pride, and a model of success and progress. Today, it stands tall among the world’s leading nations.

He added: It is difficult to list all that has been achieved and accomplished on the land of this generous nation throughout those decades. However, among the most prominent blessings that God has bestowed upon our country are security, justice, prosperity, and stability, the foundations of which were laid by King Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him - and his successors, the Kings (Saud, Faisal, Khalid, Fahd, and Abdullah) - may God have mercy on them all - continued in his footsteps, leading up to our glorious era, the era of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him. He has guided the country with a fragrant legacy, supported by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Council of Ministers. They have followed in the footsteps of the founder in his wisdom, acumen, and administration, with all strength and success, so that our Kingdom continues its civilizational renaissance in various fields, both locally and globally. This has resulted in a global impact and a high quality of life. The most eloquent witness to this are those inspiring projects that cover the needs of generations with unique diversity in heritage, economy, tourism, sports, space, innovation, and creativity, as well as modern industries. All of these were dreams yesterday, and today they have become a reality witnessing the achievements.

The President of Qassim University explained that celebrating the National Day is an inspiration from the efforts of those who came before us, a remembrance of our glorious history, a sense of responsibility, and a spur to continue giving and growing, preserving the nation and its gains, and defending it with all our might. He indicated that it is a great opportunity to draw inspiration from this grand national movement and contribute to its building, as our fathers and grandfathers did, in one unity with our wise leadership, may God strengthen it. Our nation has a great history, a dazzling present, and a promising future, God willing. He supplicated God Almighty to perpetuate for us the banner of glory, success, security, and safety, and to protect our country from all evil and our leaders from all harm, for He is the All-Hearing, the All-Responding.

The celebration included the playing of the royal anthem, a visual presentation on the university's most prominent efforts during the year, and a national operetta. The university also presented a book to His Highness the Prince titled “The Policies of the Founding King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman in Developing Men,” prepared by a group of professors from the university's History Department, in addition to honoring a number of university council members and department heads whose terms of appointment concluded during the 2022-2023 academic year.
