King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology and the university, represented by Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal Chair for Artificial Intelligence, signed an agreement today to strengthen partnership in the field of technical research and development, in the presence of His Excellency the President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, Dr. Munir bin Mahmoud Al-Desouki, and His Excellency the President of the University, Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood. .
The agreement signed at the Global AI Summit aims to enhance technical and research cooperation to support technical applications and their uses in the fields of healthcare, environment, agriculture, renewable energy, cybersecurity, processing Arabic language computational applications and the sciences of the Quran and Sunnah, smart cities and the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence and data analysis.
The parties will collaborate on technical research and development, activate data and artificial intelligence, and utilize them to support the research and development ecosystem. The collaboration will also activate the role of relevant bodies, centers, and units to leverage expertise and experiences and to combine efforts in partnership areas.
The agreement stipulates the development and support of ideas for research, applications, and products by utilizing digital technology, in addition to supporting scientific publishing, research, and development efforts, and supporting the participation of male and female students and faculty members in supporting and developing research and innovation fields.
The collaboration aims to provide data to support the scientific research ecosystem, attract Qassim University students in various relevant specializations for summer and cooperative training in theoretical and applied artificial intelligence fields, and support academic programs, continuing education, and professional training for university graduates in technical and engineering specializations.
