Qassim University, represented by the College of Sharia (Usul al-Fiqh Department) in collaboration with the Intellectual Awareness Unit, concluded a series of specialized meetings titled “Usul al-Fiqh Principles for Human Security: Starting Points, Features, and Objectives” for postgraduate students and interested individuals. The meetings were held remotely from 11/2 to 11/4/1447 AH, with the aim of highlighting the Sharia principles for the concept of human security through the science of Usul al-Fiqh.
The series addressed three main axes: psychological security, social security, and intellectual security, by rooting their concepts according to Islamic jurisprudence principles and Maqasid (purposes) foundations, while linking them to contemporary reality and highlighting the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its religious and educational institutions in strengthening these axes.
These meetings were attended by a number of specialists and postgraduate students. The speakers also discussed a number of interdisciplinary topics that combine the science of Islamic jurisprudence and the humanities, which contributes to strengthening research areas based on knowledge integration and can be utilized in scientific research and academic studies.
