The university, represented by the Deanship of E-learning and Distance Education, received the Blackboard Global Award for "Excellence in Change Leadership for the Year 2022" from Blackboard, Inc. in the United States of America. This award is presented to institutions that have developed their e-learning and educational technology practices to contribute to improving learning outcomes, student performance, or academic progress. This award is considered the highest global award in the field of e-learning and educational technology for universities and educational institutions that have utilized Blackboard solutions for educational innovation through unconventional initiatives that help develop the university learning environment, achieving measurable results across university education and learning.

The selection of Qassim University to receive this award is a recognition of the university's contributions to developing and modernizing the mechanisms for using and employing e-learning system tools to improve the educational process and solve related challenges through innovative, unconventional solutions based on Blackboard system tools, which contributed to increasing learning efficiency and developing its delivery mechanisms.

For his part, the Dean of Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Saad bin Mubarak Al-Dosari, explained that this award aims to support innovation and excellence in the e-learning practice community using the Blackboard system globally. This is achieved through studying the practices and experiences of many international universities in the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa, and selecting and honoring the best of those experiences during the year.

Al-Dosari added, "The most prominent contributions of the developmental university, for which it was nominated for the award, were the utilization of the e-learning management system in postgraduate studies to facilitate communication methods between the professor and the researcher, the use of e-learning management system tools in implementing academic advising programs for students, and the creation of online platforms via Blackboard to present and manage various student activities, whether cultural, scientific, social, artistic, religious, or others.".

And it was stated that the university was active in providing dedicated platforms for conducting electronic exams for all college students on the Blackboard system, integrating e-library services onto it to make e-library services accessible to university staff on the Blackboard platform, as well as providing virtual platforms for human medicine colleges in the form of virtual open educational clinics for each specialty, in addition to allocating electronic platforms for educational communication for each college via the Blackboard system, and enabling colleges to communicate quickly and comprehensively with all their students through this system.

Al-Dosari said that the university has worked on providing electronic platforms through Blackboard applications and tools to hold scientific research plan discussions (seminars), thesis defenses (Ph.D. - Master's), and utilize the system's tools in organizing various educational events (scientific seminars, learning forums, scientific conferences). It also uses its various applications in delivering remote training programs and courses, in addition to creating electronic platforms for holding meetings of committees, departments, and college councils, and employing its tools to provide live technical support services for students and faculty. The university also provides the system's technologies to serve the community by offering all educational and training services to the local community through the system's tools. The university is distinguished by its pioneering experience in developing and teaching full-level courses through the Blackboard system.
