The meeting was held at the main campus in the University City and included 130 students from 41 countries.
His Excellency the President of the University welcomed the international students, emphasizing that the Kingdom has harnessed all its capabilities to serve the guests of Allah, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may Allah protect them both. He added that serving the guests of Allah is a great honor that Allah has bestowed upon this blessed land, reflecting the extent of the efforts that the Kingdom – may Allah honor it – has dedicated to serving the pilgrims of the House of Allah from all over the world.
“Al-Sharikh” affirmed that Qassim University is keen to enable them to perform the Hajj pilgrimage, embodying the Kingdom's humanitarian and Islamic message and its interest in Muslims from various countries around the world. This stems from its educational and humanitarian mission, and reflects the cultural diversity and global message embraced by the university, noting that performing Hajj represents a great spiritual experience and a lifelong memory.
The President of Qassim University called on students to adhere to the approved instructions and regulations, which contribute to performing the rituals with ease and tranquility. He emphasized the importance of patience, cooperation, and realizing the greatness of the place and time. He urged students to pray for themselves, their parents, their countries, and the Kingdom during this blessed journey, asking God for a blessed Hajj, accepted efforts, and a safe return, God willing.
The “Yusr Program” aims to enable international students who have not previously performed the Hajj pilgrimage to do so through an integrated system that includes organization, scientific and educational qualification, and awareness. This is achieved by offering accompanying guidance programs and courses, enabling them to perform the pilgrimage correctly in an atmosphere of ease and tranquility.
The program also included an awareness session titled “Be an Ambassador for Your Country During Hajj,” presented by Professor Dr. Adel bin Abdullah Al-Saawy, Supervisor of the International Student Affairs Department. The session addressed the importance of international students representing their country and university in an honorable manner during the Hajj season.
