His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, stated: "The university, by the grace of Allah, has become a distinguished university in various scientific, academic, and research aspects, as well as in student activities and the accreditations it has obtained. He praised the leaps the university has achieved, represented by its students, faculty, or by the competent authorities such as colleges, deanships, and various departments, in publishing scientific research and winning awards at the local and international levels.".
This took place during the patronage of His Excellency the University President of the Student's Day ceremony, which was organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the university, with the participation of central clubs and college clubs. The Student's Day program includes 45 exhibitions to showcase the efforts and work of students over three days, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President of the University, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sawoi, His Excellency the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharikh, His Excellency the Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, His Excellency the Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Harbi, and members of the University Council, in the main atrium of the University City.
"Al-Dawood" emphasized that these accomplishments did not come from nowhere, but rather were by the grace of God, then through the support the university receives from our wise leadership, and also through the follow-up and encouragement of His Highness the Emir of the region and His Highness the Deputy, in their capacity to support the roles undertaken by the university. This is also due to the efforts of the university's male and female staff, each in their respective positions. He highlighted the roles of all officials, whether faculty members or administrators in general, as well as the male and female students of the university, who played a major and significant role in what has been achieved, praise be to God, for our university.
His Excellency the President of the University explained that the achievements the university is making from time to time, and its winning of awards that universities with longer histories or earlier publications did not achieve, are a source of pride and honor for all of us. At the same time, these achievements place a responsibility on us to maintain this series of accomplishments. He said, "We still aspire and look forward to reaching higher than we have, God willing, through your efforts, the collaboration of all, and by working as a unified team. The university will achieve what we all hope for." He then thanked the university students on Student Day for their contributions, whether in the day's presentations or throughout the years they spend in their academic departments and colleges.
He also thanked the Deanship of Student Affairs staff for organizing this program and for their wonderful effort and work, primarily His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Ajlan, the vice-deans, department managers, and the staff of the deanship for these blessed efforts. He also thanked the members of the University Council and everyone who contributed to the completion of this work and these deliverables, which we hope to see soon in reality, contributing to and supporting the development of this generous nation and achieving our country's ambitious vision 2030. He prayed to Allah Almighty for success and more future achievements.
His Excellency the President of the University honored outstanding students in extracurricular activities during the year. His Excellency honored student Sulaiman bin Mohammed Al Rajhi from the College of Dentistry for achieving the highest number of volunteer hours, totaling 4296 hours. He also honored student Salman bin Amash Al Harbi from the College of Applied Medical Sciences for being named the distinguished scout in the Scouting Club, for his many volunteer contributions in managing and organizing scouting activities and university programs and events.
Students who achieved the highest number of recorded skills in the skills register were honored, including student Saleh Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Qay'ani from the College of Science, who took first place; student Faisal Mohammed Shaye Al-Badran from the College of Economics and Administration, who took second place; and students Abdulaziz Sulaiman Abdulaziz Al-Qarnas from the College of Science and Arts in Unaizah and Sami Salah Abdi Al-Bishri from the Preparatory Year, who tied for third place.
Student clubs that received the Activities Shield for the year 1442 AH were also honored. The Colleges of Science and Arts in Al-Rass, the Colleges of Science and Arts in Uqlat Al-Suqoor, and the College of Business Administration in Al-Rass received the Bronze Shield. The Applied College in Buraidah, the College of Medicine, and the College of Dentistry in Al-Rass received the Silver Shield. The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, the College of Dentistry, and the College of Education received the Gold Shield. The College of Engineering, the College of Applied Sciences, and the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Unayzah won the Diamond Shield.
