The University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs, participated in the China International Book Fair, which started on August 21 and concluded last Sunday in the Chinese capital, Beijing. The University's pavilion was set up on an area of 56 square meters, and the University displayed a large number of books that exceeded 200 titles in various fields, including the University's scientific periodicals and books written in various sciences issued by the University, as part of the University's participation inside and outside the Kingdom in internal and external book fairs.
The Chargé d'affaires of the Saudi Embassy in China, Mr. Ahmed Al-Mulad, opened the university's pavilion at the exhibition, in the presence of Deputy Educational Attaché Abdulwahab Al-Asiri, Ministry of Education delegate Mr. Saud Mohammed Al-Dubaiei, and a number of officials at the embassy.
The university pavilion at the Chinese Book Fair contained introductory and welcoming panels in both Arabic and Chinese languages that included introducing the university, its vision and mission, the number of its faculties, the number of students, the number of educational and professional staff, in addition to the most important partnerships between the university and Chinese universities. The university also translated the titles of the books in the lists into Chinese to familiarize visitors with the contents of the university pavilion.
The university pavilion received a large number of visits from officials and visitors to the exhibition with different interests. The pavilion was characterized by its large area compared to other exhibitions, as well as the translation of the titles of the displayed books into the Chinese language, as the Qassim University pavilion was selected among the distinguished pavilions to be honored.
