Overview
يعد تخصص جراحة الفم أحد تخصصات طب الأسنان، ويتعامل مع معالجة التشوهات الخلقية في منطقة الوجه والفكين مثل الشفة الأرنبية، وتشوهات سقف الحلق، وزراعة العظام وزراعة الأسنان، كما يتعامل أيضاً مع خلع الأسنان وجراحة الفم الصغرى، مثل جراحة خلع ضروس العقل المطمورة تحت العظم معالجة كسور الهيكل الوجهي الناتجة عن إصابات الحوادث وغيرها، معالجة الالتهابات الناتجة عن مشكلات الأسنان مثل تورم الوجه نتيجة تكون الخراجات، معالجة الأكياس والأورام وأورام الغدد اللعابية في منطقة الفم والوجه والفكين، وجراحة الفك التقويمية، و تعديل وضع الفك جراحياً بالجراحة التقويمية، سواءً بالطرق التقليدية، أو إطالة العظيم.
Objectives :
1- Providing dental students and graduates with a high-quality education in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
2- Providing quality clinical care to patients in need of specialized expertise in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
3) Conducting interdisciplinary scientific and clinical research and producing new knowledge that contributes to improving patient care and community culture.
