Bachelor of Arts in Geography
Overview
The Department of Geography was established in 1402 AH as part of the College of Arabic and Social Sciences. In 1424 AH, the department became affiliated with the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies. This followed the issuance of Royal Decree No. 7/b/2242, dated 10/5/1424 AH, which merged the branches of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and King Saud University in Al-Qassim under a single university, Qassim University. Currently, the college and the department are part of the College of Languages and Humanities. The Department of Geography at the College of Languages and Humanities has developed a revised Bachelor of Science in Geography program that aligns with local and international programs, as well as the standards of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment. This program ensures the quality of university programs and administration, their compatibility with international standards, the alignment of their methodology with the comprehensive development goals of the Kingdom, and the enhancement of the quality of specializations covered by the programs. It also contributes to meeting the requirements of development and the labor market according to the Unified Saudi Classification of Occupations.

Learning Objectives
· To prepare specialized competencies in geography and environment utilizing modern technologies, aligning with labor market requirements.

Learning outcomes
Applies environmental and geographical concepts, principles, and theories, integrated within different contexts, to address geographical problems on sustainable scientific and planning foundations, and transfers specialized knowledge, skills, and complex ideas to a range of audiences.
2- Students demonstrate understanding of key geographical concepts, including Earth's physical processes, features, materials, history, and development.
3-Students define geographical terminology and use scholarly references to support research.
Tracks
The program includes two tracks:
Path: Environmental Geography Course Hours: (128) Culminates in a cooperative training program.
Path: Geography and Geographic Information Technology. Course Load: (129) credit hours. Concludes with a cooperative internship.
The program also includes exit points at the end of the second year, where there are exit points called a medium diploma in geographical sciences (78), concluding with field training.
In the program is the Miner program:
Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing.
Number of credit hours: 16
Target Audience: Humanities and Engineering students.
Admission Requirements: Completion of at least 36 core credit hours and a minimum GPA of 3.5. .
