Bachelor of Sociology and Social Work

Overview

The department was established under the name (Sociology) in the academic year 1402-1403 AH in response to the needs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for qualified scientific competencies to contribute to the comprehensive development process in various social fields within society. However, after the issuance of the Royal Decree No. 7/B/2242 dated 10/5/1424 AH merging the branches of Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and Qassim University under one university, Qassim University, the department's name was changed to (Sociology and Social Work). The department then focused on offering postgraduate programs and suspended the bachelor's program until 1440 AH. The department's efforts resulted in the resumption of the program. Admission was opened for the program with two tracks: Social Work and Sociology, for both male and female students in the academic year 1441 AH. This aligns with the vision and mission of the college and university and meets the increasing demand for the department's graduates as social workers and researchers in all relevant sectors and institutions of society. .
