The Intellectual Awareness Unit organizes an awareness meeting about the influence directed on social media sites

The intellectual awareness unit at Al-Qassim University organized an awareness meeting for dental students today, Tuesday, November 3, 2026, titled «Directed Influence on Social Media Sites,» presented by Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulrahman Alabdallah, with the aim of enhancing students' awareness of the methods of directed influence through social media platforms, and developing their ability to distinguish between reliable content and content from unknown sources, and to verify information before circulating it or reposting it.

The meeting discussed the reality of social media platforms and their level of presence in the Kingdom, the concept of targeted influence and its working mechanisms, the role of platforms and the media that transmit content to users, as well as reviewing the most prominent indicators related to targeted campaigns, the importance of verifying sources, reviewing the context of information, and referring to official channels, in addition to introducing the regulations related to content regulation, including the visual and audio media system, the anti-cybercrime system, and the personal data protection system.
