The university has achieved new global progress in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings (THE Impact Rankings 2026), advancing 100 places globally to reach the (201-300) global ranking category, compared to the (301-400) category in the 2025 ranking edition, thus moving closer to entering the top 200 universities globally in the ranking.
The Times Impact and Sustainability Ranking is one of the most prominent global rankings specializing in measuring universities' contributions to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, by assessing their impact in the areas of education, scientific research, community service, environmental sustainability, and development partnerships.
This achievement is an extension of the upward trajectory the university has achieved over the past five years, moving from the global category of (801–1000) in 2022, to the category of (401–600) in 2023, then to the category of (301–400) in 2024 and 2025, reaching the global category of (201–300) in the 2026 rankings.
The Acting Vice President of Qassim University for Business Development and Community Partnership, Dr. Majed bin Fadhi Al-Otaibi, affirmed that this progress embodies the university's successful efforts in enhancing its educational, research, and community impact, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. He pointed out that the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings is one of the most prominent global indicators that measure the impact of universities on society, economy, and environment.
He explained that this achievement is the result of integrated institutional work involving various university sectors and a continuation of a series of successes the university has achieved in international rankings. The university was the first Saudi university to obtain the QS 5 Stars Plus rating, achieved qualitative progress in the QS Sustainability Ranking, and maintained its first national position in the UI GreenMetric Ranking for the third consecutive year. It was the only Saudi university among the top 100 universities globally in this ranking.
He added that the university's progress in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings enhances its position among leading universities in the fields of sustainability and societal impact, and confirms its success in building an influential and sustainable university model that contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and strengthens its presence and competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
