University President Sponsors «Research and Innovation Day 2026»

The President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, sponsored «Research and Innovation Day 2026» today, Wednesday, May 13, 2026. The event, organized by the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, aims to highlight the contributions of the research and innovation system in providing solutions to national challenges and supporting the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The event was attended by the university's vice presidents in the main foyer of the university city.

Following his review of the research achievements, His Excellency the President of the University inaugurated a number of initiatives and services, which included: the Research Grants Management Platform, incentives and publication fee support services, Intellectual Property Management, Innovation and Entrepreneurship services, publishing services in partnership with Editage, a plagiarism check service, the Sandbox service (Amazon), the Research Repository, and Open Access.

His Excellency the President of Qassim University emphasized that the development witnessed in the education and scientific research sector in the Kingdom would not have been achieved without the grace of God Almighty, followed by the support and attention of our wise leadership - may God protect them - and their commitment to developing this sector to contribute strongly to the development process, and to promoting the knowledge-based economy, and building a sustainable, competitive future, through qualified national cadres that align with the needs of the labor market and the requirements of development and keep pace with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

Your Excellency the President of the University explained that Saudi universities have made great strides in developing their academic and research outcomes over the past few years. They have achieved progress in various international rankings, scientific publishing and innovation, and partnerships with international universities and governmental and private entities to benefit from research outcomes in maximizing the resources of the national economy by transforming innovations into products and services that contribute to the advancement of society and enhance its leadership regionally and internationally.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Walid bin Saleh Al-Battah, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, noted that Qassim University has achieved significant milestones in recent years. The year 2025 saw a remarkable increase in research performance indicators compared to 2024, with a growth rate of 271%, a growth that reflects integrated institutional efforts, teamwork, and a commitment to channeling resources toward achieving sustainable scientific and developmental impact. The university has advanced in the quality of its research outputs and increased publication in high-impact, top-tier scientific journals, thereby strengthening its presence in global databases and elevating the scientific impact of researchers across various disciplines, while placing increasing emphasis on interdisciplinary and applied research that addresses national challenges and keeps pace with global transformations.

“Al-Battah” pointed out that the university is witnessing an expansion in innovation support programs, empowering innovators, strengthening the intellectual property system, and developing research projects with economic and developmental feasibility. This contributes to transforming knowledge into added value and real development opportunities, as well as building strategic partnerships with a selection of prestigious international universities and research institutions. The aim is to exchange expertise, develop joint research projects, attract scientific talents, and enable researchers and students to engage with leading global experiences, thereby enhancing the university's competitiveness and elevating the quality of its outcomes.
