The intensive training program for academic department heads, titled «Academic Leadership and High-Efficiency Department Management,» organized by the General Administration of Human Resources, represented by the Leadership and Capabilities Development Center. This program is part of the university's efforts to develop academic leadership and enhance institutional performance efficiency within colleges and academic departments.

The university president welcomed the attendees at the beginning of the meeting, emphasizing the significant role of human resources in developing and improving the quality of educational and research outcomes at the university. He also stressed the importance of continuous training and skill development for all university leaders and staff.

His Excellency the University President clarified that the university provides all capabilities to its staff through training courses and qualitative programs to support professional development in line with the Human Capability Development Program, which is one of the most prominent goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The program is part of Qassim University's direction towards investing in the development of academic human capital and empowering department heads with modern leadership and administrative skills that contribute to raising the quality of the educational process, improving learning outcomes, and enhancing academic and administrative efficiency, in line with the university's directions.

The program targets academic department heads in the university's colleges. It is delivered in person at the Leadership and Capabilities Development Center over five intensive training days, carefully designed to meet the leadership and administrative needs of academic department heads.

The program includes a set of specialized applied tracks that reflect the reality of academic work and the needs of academic leaders. It begins with the track of academic leadership and team building, then operational planning, performance indicators, and professional development, leading to the management of the educational process, study schedules, and dealing with critical courses and academic conflicts. The program also addresses academic failure and mechanisms for student complaints, in addition to systems and procedures related to human resources, scientific councils, and legal administration. This also includes the necessary digital skills for the department head and their role in supporting scientific research and innovation, contributing to raising the efficiency of academic and administrative performance and enhancing the quality of institutional work within academic departments.

The program also focuses on providing participants with an integrated system of practical tools and models that help them develop academic and administrative performance, enhance decision-making efficiency, and foster the work environment within academic departments, thereby contributing to the quality of academic programs and strengthening the institutional impact of the college and university.

The program will be held in three training sessions during May and June 2026 at the Leadership and Capacity Development Center, with the aim of enabling all heads of academic departments in the university’s colleges to benefit from the program and its specific topics.

The program has garnered widespread interest from colleges and academic departments, as it represents a developmental initiative that contributes to enhancing leadership efficiency, supporting institutional excellence, and elevating the quality of academic and administrative work at the university.
