His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, patronized the «Peoples» Heritage" Festival in its fifth edition, which is organized by the university for 6 days at the King Khalid Cultural Center, in the presence of His Excellency the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahad Al-Sharikh, with the participation of several entities and more than 90 nationalities from around the world.
His Highness the Prince of Al-Qassim region affirmed that the «Peoples» Heritage" festival represents a global cultural platform that reflects the openness and cultural diversity enjoyed by the Kingdom in light of the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He pointed out that the participation of more than 90 nationalities of university students is a rich model for civilizational dialogue and contributes to consolidating the concepts of acquaintance and understanding between peoples. He praised the efforts of His Excellency the President of the University and its affiliates in organizing such cultural forums and what they are presenting in this event that contributes to bringing peoples closer together.
His Highness said: “What we are witnessing at the Peoples” Heritage Festival embodies a bright image of the cultural diversity embraced by the Kingdom, and reflects the university's role in building bridges of civilizational communication, and enhancing cultural and societal awareness through qualitative events with a global dimension.".
His Highness the Emir of the Qassim region toured the festival pavilions and the participating entities' and countries' stands, learning about the cultural diversity and popular heritage they offer, reflecting the civilizations of the participating peoples. He also visited the Saudi pavilion, which highlights the cultural and civilizational heritage of the Kingdom, praising the festival's cultural and humanitarian message that promotes the values of coexistence and rapprochement between peoples.
For his part, the university president affirmed that the patronage and attendance of His Highness the Prince of Qassim Region for this festival represent a source of pride and honor. He expressed his thanks and appreciation for this generous support, which contributes to the success of an event that brings together international students and their families from more than ninety countries, in a diverse cultural tableau that reflects the richness of multiculturalism in one place and under one banner. He explained that these students came to the Kingdom seeking knowledge, and found a leading educational environment that embraces them and contributes to developing their capabilities.
The university president added that the festival embodies one of the dimensions of the university's vision in national and global partnership, by consolidating concepts of understanding among peoples, encouraging the embrace of international students, enhancing their educational role in building bridges of cultural communication, and presenting a bright image of world cultures from which everyone benefits.
