The medical city at Qassim University succeeded in performing the first surgical operation of its kind at the university hospital to correct spinal deformity (scoliosis) for a 19-year-old patient, a medical achievement that reflects the development of specialized services provided at the hospital.
The Director of the University Hospital, Dr. Mohammed bin Suleiman Abaa Al-Khail, explained that the condition underwent precise clinical assessments and advanced radiological examinations by an integrated medical team working according to the highest approved medical standards. Surgical intervention was decided upon to correct the deviation.
The surgery was successfully performed by spine surgery consultant Dr. Abdullah Al-Saeed, with the participation of the anesthesia team and the support of a specialized nursing staff. By the grace of God, it resulted in correcting scoliosis and straightening the spine while fully preserving the integrity of the spinal cord.
This procedure is part of a series of qualitative and advanced procedures performed at the Medical City of Qassim University.
