Promising scholarships for new faculty members Effective
Waed Grant is one of the permanent grants, dedicated to supporting and empowering newly joined researchers at Qassim University to engage in scientific research with high efficiency, by providing the necessary support to embark on the research path and motivating scientific achievement.
Terms and Conditions
- The applicant must hold a PhD degree or its equivalent, and no more than two years should have passed since the faculty member joined Qassim University, according to the appointment decision at Qassim University.
- The research proposal must not be plagiarized from a master's thesis or doctoral dissertation, nor should it have been previously completed, either in whole or in part.
- The research proposal must be within the research priorities of Qassim University.
- The researcher obtained the certificate of completion for the scientific research ethics course.
- Submission shall be restricted to the principal investigator only. Co-researchers may be enlisted when scientifically necessary after obtaining prior approval from the relevant research center, provided that their role is limited to the scientific and executive aspects, and that their participation does not entail any financial entitlements or benefits.
- The researcher must comply with the provisions of the Scientific Research and Innovation Bylaw and its executive regulations at Qassim University, as well as the rules governing the management of research grants at Qassim University.
- The publication must be of the Original Article type
- The scientific paper must be published in one of the journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) databases in either of the two editions (SCIE, SSCI) for all disciplines, within one of the following quartiles (Q1, Q2, or Q3). As for disciplines in colleges affiliated with the Center for Theoretical Colleges, it is required that the scientific paper be published in one of the journals indexed in the Scopus database in the first quartile (Q1) or the second quartile (Q2) only.
Duration and financial benefits
- The duration of the project is one academic year (10 months), starting from the date of signing the contract between the researcher and the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
- Financial rewards are calculated in accordance with the continuous grant rewards stipulated in the rules governing the management of research grants at Qassim University.
- Compensation for scientific publication fees in indexed journals is in accordance with the regulations and conditions of Qassim University's scientific publication fee support initiative.
Generation Scholar Grant Effective
It is one of the permanent grants aimed at male and female graduate students at the master's and doctoral levels. It aims to support and empower students to engage in scientific research, enhance their research capabilities, and encourage them to produce rigorous scientific research that contributes to the development of knowledge and serves the priorities of scientific research at the university and society. The grant also seeks to build a generation of researchers capable of adhering to the scientific methodology and raising the quality of research outputs for graduate students, thereby enhancing the university's competitiveness and research standing.
Terms and Conditions
- The applicant must be a faculty member at Qassim University and the academic supervisor of the student's thesis or dissertation.
- The research proposal must be in accordance with the approved research plan of the male or female student.
- The research proposal must not have been previously funded by any other entity and shall not be submitted for funding to any other entity once its funding is approved.
- The research proposal must be within the research priorities of Qassim University.
- Researchers obtaining a certificate of completion for the scientific research ethics course.
- Submissions shall be limited to the thesis academic supervisor and the graduate student. Co-researchers may be enlisted when there is a scientific need, subject to prior approval from the relevant research center, provided that their involvement does not entail any financial obligations.
- The researcher must comply with the provisions of the Scientific Research and Innovation Bylaw and its executive regulations at Qassim University, as well as the rules governing the management of research grants at Qassim University.

Sustainable Development Research Grant Completed
The Sustainable Development Research Grant for faculty members, which aims to stimulate and encourage researchers in fields and disciplines related to sustainable development and the research and development system in the Kingdom.
Sustainable Development Research Grant Terms and Conditions
1- The principal investigator must be a faculty member at Qassim University with a minimum academic rank of assistant professor.
2- The principal investigator or a member of the research team should not be in default according to the default conditions determined by the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research.
3- The research proposal must not have been previously supported by any other organization and must not be submitted to any other organization upon approval for support.
4- The research should not be derived from an academic thesis (Master's, PhD or previous funded research projects).
5- The research team's rewards will be paid according to the Unified Regulations for Scientific Research upon the closure of the project and the achievement of the project outputs by publishing one paper in peer-reviewed scientific journals listed in Web of Science (Q1, Q2 and Q3) according to the latest version (for all disciplines); for (humanities disciplines only) it is possible to accept publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals listed in Scopus (Q1 and Q2) according to the latest version, while using the approved sustainable development keywords (to view them click here).
6- The scientific reference written in the researcher's published research must be in the following approved format:
Department of ...., College of ...., Qassim University, Saudi Arabia
This excludes the name of the applied college to be:
Unit of Scientific Research, Applied College, Qassim University, Saudi Arabia
The researcher's university email address should be included in the published paper (XXX@qu.edu.sa)
7- Indicate the support of the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at Qassim University when publishing the research according to the wording approved by the deanship.
8- The research team should consist of a maximum of two researchers, and one of the members of the research team should have published in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
9- The duration of the scholarship is one year starting from the date of signing the contract between the PI and the deanship.

Development Grant - Second Cycle Completed
It is a grant that aims to implement and complete studies and development projects for the university's related entities, through which the university's goals will be achieved to raise the university's capabilities and solve some of the existing issues.
Target audiences
1- University agencies.
2- Auxiliary deaneries.
3- Colleges.
4- Departments and units.
Terms of the second round of the development grant
1- The studies must be submitted by organizations within the university.
2- All submitted studies are subject to arbitration and evaluation by the competent authorities and committees.
3- The duration of the project should not exceed 10 months.
4- The Principal Investigator must be a Saudi national and an employee of the applicant organization.
5- The research team consists of co-researchers (no more than five) in addition to the principal investigator.
6- The total amount allocated for research team rewards should not exceed SAR 55,000 according to the following table:

7- Supporting services that serve the development grant may be added up to a maximum of SAR 15,000 to be paid at the time of closing the project.
8- The submitted project must mainly serve the applicant entity, preferably within the entity's strategic plan and not finalized in the Plamex system.
9- The project is closed and the researchers' dues are disbursed after submitting a detailed report and a workshop to present the project's outputs and then approved by the relevant committees and authorities.

A research group is a group of researchers from the university's faculty members in a number of interdisciplinary and integrated scientific disciplines that possess outstanding research and knowledge expertise in their field of specialization and seek to accomplish high-quality joint research that contributes to the production of comprehensive knowledge and community service.

Defense Research Grant - Faculty and Graduate Student Track Effective
In the spirit of developing research and development in all areas of development and research, the idea of launching the Defense Research Scholarship in partnership with the Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research (PSCDSR) was born. It aims to stimulate and develop human cadres and develop and refine the necessary knowledge and capabilities in the fields and disciplines related to the military and defense industries and the research and development system in the Kingdom.
Conditions of the Defense Research Grant (Faculty Track)
1- The principal investigator must be a faculty member at Qassim University with a minimum academic rank of assistant professor.
2- The research team is made up of at least two researchers from within the university, preferably including graduate students as co-researchers.
3- The research team should preferably be from different disciplines.
4- One of the members of the research team must not be in default according to the default conditions determined by the Deanship of Scientific Research.
5- The research proposal must not have been previously submitted for support from any other entity and will not be submitted for support from any other entity after approval.
6- The research proposal should not exceed the percentage approved by the deanship when testing with the citation program.
7- The support must be indicated when publishing the project outputs according to the format approved by the deanship.
8- The research proposal must fall within the specified fields.
