The summer club held a workshop titled "The Role of Youth in Achieving Vision 2030" at the university city in Al-Miledaa on Sunday afternoon, 16/11/1439 AH. This was part of the cultural activities aimed at summer club members, which the university is organizing this year to introduce youth to their future role in achieving the aspirations of the wise government of the Kingdom (may God protect it), which strives for progress in all fields, aiming for Saudi Arabia to be at the forefront regionally and globally.
The workshop was led by Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Ajlan, Assistant Professor in the Special Education Department at the College of Education, and Vice Dean of Student Affairs at the University. He reviewed the fundamental pillars of Vision 2030 and how they can be achieved in practice. He listened to the opinions of the young participants in the workshop and their aspirations for their homeland. The workshop included three themes: "A Vibrant Society, a Thriving Economy, and an Ambitious Nation.".
At the beginning of the workshop, "Al-Aglan" reviewed the speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - in which he said: "My primary goal is for our country to be a successful and leading model in the world on all levels, and I will work with you to achieve that." In addition to the speech of the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect him - in which he expressed the importance of youth, saying: "We rely on the youth to achieve Vision 2030, and we aspire for our country to be a leading model." After that, "Al-Aglan" reviewed the three axes, where important points concerning the role of youth were discussed, such as scientific fields, academic specializations, and social media, and how to utilize them for the progress of society.
During the session, the qualities of a successful young person were discussed, and how to utilize these qualities in achieving the nation's Vision 2030. Additionally, the importance of initiative and positive thinking, and avoiding negativity for personal and national success were covered. The role of the Vision in encouraging saving and investment for individuals, especially youth, was also clarified, urging them towards creativity and production instead of need, and towards security instead of guarantee.
The workshop presented a set of methods that enable young people to realize the importance of their role in the future and set their goals through direct presentations, group discussions, and activities that had a positive impact on the participants.
At the end of the workshop, it was emphasized that life has value, flourishing when the youth have the ability to invest their talents and potential. Achieving this requires: confidence, ambition, optimism, and knowledge.
The university's summer club offers many beneficial courses and workshops for students, such as: "Citizenship and Intellectual Security Enhancement," "Essential English Skills," "Common Spelling Mistakes," and many other courses chosen to benefit students during their summer vacation, in addition to entertainment. The club, which lasts for 30 days, is scheduled to continue until next Thursday, God willing.
