Under the patronage of His Highness the Emir of Qassim, the University launches its awareness, health and education campaign in Aqlah Al-Suqur Governorate

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, inaugurated on Sunday evening, 16/6/1439, the second university campaign "Awareness, Health and Education", which is being held this year in Aqlah Al-Suqur Governorate, which will witness the implementation of many legal, social, awareness, health and training programs for the people of the governorate over a period of 7 days.

During his speech following the opening of the campaign, HH the Amir expressed his pride in the young and active university under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, the university's president, and its vice presidents and students, who are considered ambassadors in all fields.

His Highness pointed to the great success of last year's campaign in Abanat Center, which was a high-level community campaign, stressing that this year's campaign has been prepared in a more sophisticated way, as it will include 244 programs with the participation of 600 people from the university's staff and students.

He explained that one of the most important roles of the university is to raise awareness, educate and provide services to the community, explaining that Qassim University is unique in such constructive initiatives as the university primarily seeks to build the human being who will build the building.

His Highness praised the National Exhibition, which tells the achievements and history of this blessed country, and the founding king's unification of the country, which paved the way for development and progress, as well as the security and safety that the country enjoys today, which God has sustained for the Kingdom and its people.

His Highness also thanked the UQU President and Vice Presidents, the exclusive sponsor of the campaign "Al-Rajhi Bank", and all workers and participants in this campaign. His Highness also directed to hold a campaign next year in Diriyah governorate for the residents of southern Qassim to benefit the community there and for the university to continue to fulfill its role in all governorates.

For his part, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, welcomed all attendees and participants in one of the most important programs of the University, extending his thanks to His Highness the Emir of the region, pointing out that the successes achieved by the University are thanks to Allah Almighty first, then due to the support that the University receives from the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the follow-up of His Highness the Emir of the region, stressing that the University will not confine its work within its borders but rather a university for the community.    

Al-Dawood expressed his pride and pride in this campaign, in which nearly 600 people work as one team to implement 244 programs that benefit more than 20,000 citizens, extending his thanks to Aqlah Al-Suqur Governorate, the municipality, the working bodies and all workers in the campaign.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, Deputy General Supervisor of the campaign, said that Qassim University is honored by the presence of His Highness the Emir of the region for the second time, pointing out that this year's campaign seeks to achieve several developmental goals for the community, most notably instilling Islamic values, positive concepts, belonging to the homeland and protecting young people from extremism and destructive ideas.

Al-Turki explained that the number of legal programs during the campaign is 88 programs, while social programs amount to about 12, in addition to 20 training courses and 30 health programs, oral health offers 42 programs, pharmaceutical education 20 programs, 10 public health programs, as well as a theatrical show that tells the Kingdom's efforts in combating terrorism, and a veterinary caravan that provides treatment services and medical consultations to exceed 244 programs, presented by 600 students and a large number of faculty members and university affiliates, as the campaign programs are designed to target and accommodate 20 thousand residents of the region.

The opening ceremony included a visual presentation about the campaign, its objectives and what it achieved in its first edition in Dhalei Rashid, Abanat Center, about 200 kilometers from the city of Buraydah, which witnessed 244 service programs, which benefited more than 10,000 people.

Following the opening ceremony, HH the Emir toured the pavilion "My Homeland. The pavilion showcases the achievements of the Kingdom's kings throughout its history and the oral and dental health department, which treats caries and gum issues, as well as the ENT clinic and the neck and head clinic.

He also saw the corner of the eye clinic, where visitors are examined to detect common diseases such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and deviation, in addition to providing consultations and health education for most common eye diseases, along with the corner of the College of Pharmacy, which includes three sections to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction, the corner of drug consultations, and the corner of herbs and natural substances. 

He inspected the medical laboratory department and the food science department, which offers awareness programs on the dangers of junk food and the harms of improper dietary behavior and provides nutrition counseling and diet plans.

At the end of the ceremony, the Prince of Qassim honored the martyrs of duty in Aqlah Al-Suqur Governorate, the exclusive sponsor Al-Rajhi Bank, and the participating and working parties in the campaign.
