The Australian press dubbed the Saudi scholarship student from the University in Australia "Ahmed Al-Muhaimid", who saved a man who was about to drown in the city of Melbourne, on Sunday 4/5/1439 AH, where he risked his life to save a stranger and jumped into the river, despite the presence of sharks in the area, and pulled the drowning man to enter the hospital and receive the necessary treatment and leave safely, and Australian eyewitnesses expressed their admiration for the morals and courage of the young Saudi who represents the principles of the Saudi people and the Islamic religion.
Speaking to the Australian media, "Al-Muhaimid" revealed what happened around the Dockland River at nine o'clock in the evening, where he was walking with his friends next to the river, when he heard a distress call from a person struggling with drowning and asking for help in the middle of the river, so he rushed without hesitation to jump directly into the cold waters of the river, rescue him and pull him to safety, stressing that this act is nothing more than a humanitarian act that is consistent with the values and principles prevailing in the Saudi Muslim community.
Al-Muhaimid thanked Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, and members of the Saudi Embassy in Australia and his relatives for their concern, inquiring about him and calling him to check on him.
Al-Muhaimid told several Australian media outlets that what he did represents the morals, principles and authenticity of Saudi youth and young women, which proved their moderation and coexistence with everyone, and the Saudi hero's attitude reflected the popularity of foreign media outlets that dealt with the pictures of what happened and demonstrated the strength and courage of Saudi youth.
