His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, praised the steps taken by the Kingdom's government under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may Allah protect them - for the development, prosperity and progress of the Kingdom, and the future plans for its advancement, in conjunction with the announcement by His Highness the Crown Prince of the giant "NEOM" project that will be built in the northwest of the Kingdom in an area central to the world continents, making the greatest use of natural, climatic and human resources of the Kingdom.

Al-Dawood stressed the Kingdom's ability to successfully implement the NEOM project due to its natural, economic and human resources, in addition to its geographical location in the middle of global trade routes, its security and stability, in addition to the cohesion between the people and its wise leadership, pointing out that NEOM aims to establish a promising urban area to become the most attractive destination for Saudi and international talent, based on technical and digital sciences that include artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality technologies, data centers, the Internet of Things, and e-commerce.

Al-Dawood praised the comprehensive vision of the project and the integrated plan that took into account all social, educational and health aspects, with international standards for lifestyle in terms of cultural aspects, arts and education, pointing out that the project will create job opportunities in all sectors, putting the responsibility on Saudi universities to provide competencies and qualified national cadres to fill these future jobs, in line with the project's objectives of fostering innovation and putting the Kingdom on the right track to occupy a leading position in the sectors of the future.

Al-Dawood expressed his happiness about the project's focus on human beings and their cultural, educational and educational rehabilitation in the first place, and their endeavor to provide comfortable living for the residents of the new city, with an ideal environment that encourages people to move, generates a deep sense of belonging to the community, and develops their ability to be creative and innovative, by expanding beyond physical work to the virtual world by providing fast and free digital services to people, including internet everywhere, promoting high-quality education, and facilitating communication with the outside world.

The new city will provide a fertile environment for the growth and development of education and scientific research in the Kingdom, and will open the way for scientists, researchers and academics to create and innovate and provide them with the possibility of practical applications of their innovations and creations, given its reliance on the future of biotechnology, which also includes human biotechnology, the pharmaceutical industry and the future of advanced manufacturing, in addition to establishing a global center for the innovation of food technologies, including agriculture using sea water, aquaculture, aeroponics and desert agriculture.
