His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, sponsored today, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the «Student Day» program, organized by Al-Qassim University, in the presence of the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, university vice-presidents, and a number of university staff and students at the University City Convention Center.
His Highness the Governor of Al-Qassim Region affirmed that what he witnessed during his patronage of the ”Student Day Program” embodies the extent of progress and excellence that the university has reached in its programs and activities, and in the student outcomes that reflect the success of its academic and developmental journey.
His Highness said: “How happy I am to be among this elite group of male and female university students. Words fail to describe the pride and honor I feel for the achievements of the university and for the inventions, national and international successes achieved by its sons and daughters.”.
His Highness added: “Everyone is facing a great challenge, and I advise you to fear God and strive. Knowledge is no longer confined to university halls, but has become available through digital platforms and open learning resources. Therefore, the responsibility is doubled.”.
His Highness stressed the importance of continuing the pursuit of excellence, saying: “I want Qassim University to stay up at night and work during the day, and to continue building and striving to achieve global rankings. We firmly believe that this university is capable of meeting the challenge and reaching the leadership befitting its name and stature.”.
His Highness the Prince of Qassim region praised the qualitative achievements of the university students at the local and international levels, emphasizing that what has been achieved is a source of pride and honor, reflecting the university's efforts in nurturing its students' talents and developing their abilities. His Highness offered thanks to the university's leadership and staff for their sincere work in achieving institutional and academic excellence.
The ceremony began with the playing of the royal anthem and included a number of diverse segments, such as a visual presentation about the most prominent university programs and activities and their role in building student personalities and consolidating national belonging, a student success story of a graduate who excelled in academic and skill aspects, in addition to honoring a number of male and female university students who achieved distinguished achievements at the national and international levels.
The Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahd bin Suleiman Al-Ahmad, spoke about Student Day, which marks the culmination of the learning journey with life and experience. He stated that the university showcases a year of student determination and resolve through national programs, creations and achievements, exhibitions and innovations, scientific and cultural competitions, sports and physical contests, and volunteer activities that instill the values of giving and responsibility. He noted that these activities hone skills, shape behavior, boost self-confidence, and foster teamwork and leadership among students.
Al-Ahmad explained that on this day, the university celebrates its creative students from various colleges who have achieved more than 65 student accomplishments during the year, represented the university in various forums, and achieved victories locally, nationally, and internationally. He emphasized that these achievements did not come by chance but through effort, work, and planning. The most recent of these was two days ago, when university female students achieved first place in the tennis championship at the level of Saudi universities.
He added: These achievements would not have been possible without the success of Almighty God, and then under wise leadership that believed that investing in people is the way to progress, and has drawn a national project led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them -. Leadership that has made the sons and daughters of the nation a workforce contributing to building a path that knows no retreat, and creating a generation that believes in difference, and writes the features of tomorrow, inspired by a sound and upright vision.
The university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, has worked on developing plans and programs that contribute to harnessing students' potential, within a positive university environment that enhanced their capabilities and skills, and helped them achieve 65 accomplishments in one academic year, including 24 international awards and 42 local awards, distributed as 43 group awards and 23 individual awards, reflecting the university's role in empowering its students and honing their talents in line with the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
Following that, His Highness the Governor of the region reviewed the accompanying exhibition, which included a number of diverse pavilions highlighting the university's efforts in strengthening national belonging and developing student skills within the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030. These included: the National Identity Oasis, the cultural competition for the works of His Highness the Governor of the region, the Talent and Innovation Pavilion, the Competitions and Awards Oasis, the Student Cultures Pavilion which reflects the diversity of nationalities at the university, the University Life Pavilion, in addition to oases representing scientific disciplines such as: Science and Engineering, Health and Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Applied Education.
