H.H. the Emir of Qassim patronizes the "Student Day" ceremony at the university and praises the students' national and international achievements

His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim Region, patronized today, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the "Student Day" program held by Qassim University, in the presence of the University President, Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharekh, university vice presidents, and a number of university employees and students at the conference center in the university city.

His Highness the Emir of Qassim emphasized that what he witnessed during his patronage of the Student Day program reflects the progress and excellence reached by the university in its programs and activities, as well as the student outputs that reflect the success of its academic and developmental process.

His Highness said: "I am delighted to be among this elite group of university students, and words cannot describe the pride I feel in the achievements of the university and the inventions and national and international successes achieved by its sons."

His Highness added: "Everyone is facing a great challenge, and I recommend you to fear God and be diligent, as knowledge is no longer limited to the halls of universities only, but has become available through digital platforms and open learning resources, so the responsibility is doubled."

His Highness stressed the importance of continuing to strive for excellence, saying: "I want Qassim University to stay awake day and night, and to continue building and effort to achieve global rankings, as we firmly believe that this university is capable of winning the challenge and reaching the leadership that befits its name and status."

H.H. the Emir of Qassim praised the qualitative achievements of the university's students at the local and international levels, stressing that what has been achieved is a source of pride and reflects the university's efforts in nurturing the talents of its students and developing their abilities, thanking the university leaders and employees for their sincere work to achieve institutional and academic excellence.


The ceremony began with the playing of the royal anthem and included a number of diverse paragraphs, including a visual presentation on the most prominent university programs and activities and their role in building student personality and consolidating national belonging, a student success story of a graduate who excelled in academic and skilled aspects, in addition to honoring a number of university students who achieved distinguished achievements at the national and international levels.

For his part, the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Fahad bin Sulaiman Al-Ahmad, spoke about the Student Day, which completes the learning journey with life and experience, in which the university reviews a year's journey of its students' determination through national programs, creations and achievements, exhibitions and innovations, scientific and cultural competitions, sports and physical competitions, and voluntary activities that reinforce the values of giving and responsibility, pointing out that these activities refine skills, develop behavior, enhance self-confidence, and develop team spirit and leadership among the students.

Al-Ahmad explained that the university celebrates on this day its creative students from various colleges who achieved more than 65 student achievements during the year and represented the university in various forums and won locally, nationally and internationally, stressing that these achievements did not come by chance but by effort, work and planning, the last of which was two days ago, when the university students achieved first place in the tennis championship at the level of Saudi universities.

He added: "These achievements would not have been possible without the grace of God Almighty, then we are under a rational leadership that believes that investing in people is the way to advancement, and has drawn a national project led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman - may God protect them. A leadership that has made the sons and daughters of the homeland to contribute to building a march that does not know retreat, creating a generation that believes in the difference, and writing the features of tomorrow, inspired by a sound and strong vision.

The university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, has worked to build plans and programs that contribute to investing students' energies in a positive university environment that enhanced their abilities and skills, and contributed to their achievement of 66 achievements during one academic year, including 24 international awards and 42 local awards, distributed among 43 group awards and 23 individual awards, reflecting the university's role in empowering its students and honing their talents in line with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.


After that, H.H. the Emir was briefed on the accompanying exhibition, which contained a number of diverse corners that highlight the university's efforts in promoting national belonging and developing students' skills within the objectives of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, including: The National Identity Oasis, the Cultural Competition by His Highness the Emir of the Region, the Talent and Innovation Corner, the Competitions and Awards Oasis, the Student Cultures Corner that reflects the diversity of nationalities at the university, the University Life Corner, in addition to oases representing scientific specializations such as: Science and Engineering, Health and Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Applied Education.
