The University organizes an event to celebrate the Arabic language on its International Day

His Excellency the President of the University, Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, patronized on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the «We Are Proud of Her» event, which was organized by the university through the College of Languages and Humanities. The event included exhibitions, discussion panels, lectures, competitions, and student participation, in the presence of Their Excellencies the Vice Presidents of the University, in the Main Atrium of the University City.

His Excellency the President of the University inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, which highlighted the history of the Arabic language, the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in caring for the Arabic language, and the role of the university in serving Arabic language sciences. It also showcased a number of scientific and research activities and student projects through a scientific exhibition that included 10 sections. These included a section on the King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language, a section for the university and college, a section on prominent national pioneers who contributed to enriching the language with knowledge, publications, and translations, in addition to a section for non-native Arabic speakers, sections on Arabic calligraphy, competitions, posters, and free distribution of books and brochures about the International Arabic Language Day.

The college also held a lecture titled: «Arabic: Its Contemporary Reality and its Role in Identity and Development,» which reviewed the contemporary civilizational reality of the Arabic language, the most important features of its renaissance, the challenges it faces, and its relationship to human and societal identity, in the presence of a number of faculty members, and male and female students.
