His Excellency Professor Dr. Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Sharikh, the University President, was honored by the university on the occasion of its achievement of the highest stage in «Innovation» for the third consecutive year, and its attainment of the second place in the education and training sector, and the fifteenth place at the level of government entities in the Kingdom in the Government Digital Transformation Measurement Index for 2024. This recognition comes as a result of the university's adaptation to the standards and strategic directions of the digital government, during the Digital Government Forum, in the presence of a number of Their Excellencies the ministers, on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the city of Riyadh.
The Digital Government Authority announced during the forum the results of the Digital Transformation Index 2024 measurement for over 200 government entities from various sectors. This index assesses and diagnoses the status of entities and monitors their digital transformation journey through several key indicators. These include: criteria derived from Royal Orders, Council of Ministers resolutions, and circulars encompassing 52 criteria, and digital transformation criteria consisting of 73 criteria. These are used to measure government entities' commitment to implementing these criteria and their levels of adherence to execution. The results of measuring these indicators are classified into 5 stages: (Innovation, Integration, Improvement, Accessibility, and Establishment).
Qassim University's results in the «Creativity» stage, achieved for the third consecutive year, placed it among the top 15 government entities. It ranked second in the education and training sector with a score of (92.53%), reflecting the level of effort invested in developing its digital transformation system, digital infrastructure, and their utilization to serve the university's mission, goals, and various programs.
The university was honored during the Digital Government Forum in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice President for Business Development and Community Partnership, Dr. Majed bin Fadi Al-Enezi, and His Excellency the Dean of the Deanship of E-learning and Information Technology, Professor Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al-Bahli.
This indicator aims to raise government entities' levels of compliance with orders and decisions, and to achieve digital transformation requirements through optimal application of basic standards, in addition to improving the performance and effectiveness of government entities, and enhancing the quality of services provided to beneficiaries. It also aims to contribute to the Kingdom's progress in international indicators and the development of e-government.
