The University and the General Investigations Prison Administration of the State Security Presidency in Buraydah celebrate the graduation of the first batch of diploma students from the prison inmates

The university and the Public Security Prison Administration under the Presidency of State Security in Buraydah city celebrated the graduation of the first batch of diploma and higher diploma students from among the prison inmates last Wednesday evening. The ceremony was attended by the university's Vice President for Academic Affairs, several directors of security sectors in the region, deans of the relevant colleges, and the graduates' families, at the prison headquarters in Buraydah. The first batch of prison inmates included 26 graduates from diplomas in three specializations: Social Research, Human Resources Diploma, and Sales Diploma. The ceremony included several segments, beginning with the national anthem and recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a film showcasing the impact of in-person education on their academic achievement. There was also a film about the university and the experience of in-person education within prisons, marking it as the first university in the region to offer this type of education within prisons at the diploma level, and the first university globally to offer postgraduate programs. This initiative is the result of concerted efforts between the university and the Presidency of State Security, represented by the Public Security Prison in Buraydah city, to rehabilitate and develop inmates in security prisons by providing in-person university education services at various academic levels. This makes it the first of its kind in the Kingdom and the world, thereby fulfilling the national mission of both entities. This reflects the wise leadership's interest in supporting education and making it accessible to all segments and categories of society.
