His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, emphasized the importance of Al-Qassim University's "Awareness, Health, and Education" campaign, which supports the developmental balance program in the region's emirate. He pointed out that this program assigns a unique specialty to each governorate or entity. He also noted that such campaigns serve as a strong support for this developmental program, since its inception in the governorates of Al-Banaat, Oqlat Al-Suqoor, Dhuriyah, and then Qobba, as these campaigns have significantly supported the developmental balance program throughout the Al-Qassim region.
This came during His Highness's kind patronage of the closing ceremony of Qassim University's comprehensive campaign «Awareness, Health, and Education,» in its fifth edition, held at Dakhna Center in Al-Rass Governorate, in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, the University Vice Presidents, and a number of government officials.
His Highness the Emir of Al-Qassim toured the participating pavilions in the university's campaign, which offers educational, medical, health, and awareness programs for the residents of Dukhna Center, with the participation of a group of specialists and doctors from all departments and the participation of male and female students. His Highness learned about the equipment and capabilities provided by the university to serve the community, and also reviewed the pavilion of the General Directorate for Narcotic Control in Al-Qassim.
His Highness said: "This is one of the happiest and most joyful days for me, as I see the completion of the unique jewel that we started several years ago with this fifth campaign, after it was held in several governorates in the region and will be completed, God willing. He offered his sincere thanks, appreciation, and prayers to His Excellency the President of the University, the Excellencies the Vice Presidents of the University, the Deans of Colleges, and the staff and practitioners in all colleges and specializations of this young university, which I always love to enjoy and call it "universities within a university.' It is truly not just one university, and I am very proud and honored by it.".
I call upon God Almighty to perpetuate the security, safety, and stability of this country under the leadership of my master, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz - may God protect him - and my brother, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - and all our loyal colleagues. I tell them: I am proud of you, and we are very proud and honored by every loyal colleague who has exerted his effort in the service of this nation.
For his part, His Excellency the President of the University stated that this campaign comes from the university's responsibilities and its belief in its societal role, as it places great importance on community service due to its profound impact and clear contribution to improving the quality of life and raising the level of awareness and belonging. Thanks to God Almighty, and to the unlimited support the university receives from our wise leadership - may God perpetuate their glory and success - and from His Highness the Governor of the region, it has continued to implement this campaign, which began in Dhalia Rasheed Center, then in Uqlat As-Suqoor Governorate, followed by Dhariyah Governorate, and the fourth in Qubbah Center. We are now concluding the fifth edition this year 1445 AH in Dakhna Center, reaching tens of thousands of beneficiaries from all these campaigns, all of which have had the honor of noble patronage, great attention, support, and encouragement from His Highness the Emir of Qassim, who encouraged, supported, and emphasized its continuation and movement between the governorates and centers of the region.
Adding that this center is located 150 kilometers from the main university headquarters, to celebrate the success of the campaign's events and the programs it included in a number of religious, educational, skill-based, medical services, awareness, health, and nutritional fields, targeting all segments of society. He pointed out that the preparation and equipping for this campaign began several months ago with the formation of multiple committees, numbering more than ten core and executive committees with about sixty members. The number of programs and events reached about three hundred, with about four hundred members from the university’s faculty and students participating in their implementation, feeling their social responsibility towards their country and its people.
Subsequently, the head of the campaign's organizing committee, Professor Dr. Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Turki, spoke, emphasizing that the main goal of this campaign is to contribute to the quality of life for citizens, as affirmed by the Kingdom's Vision 2030. This is to foster positive values, enhance the correct understanding of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, fortify the mind against negative influences, and protect thought from negligence and extremism.
He added that this campaign also aimed to improve public health and spread awareness in medical and nutritional fields, pointing out that it is offered in various locations to make its programs more beneficial and impactful. These locations include the campaign's main headquarters, training halls, boys' and girls' schools in and around the center, mosques, and the livestock market.
The head of the campaign's organizing committee explained that the number of programs offered in the campaign reached 299. Of these, 49 were religious and intellectual programs, 43 were educational, national, and social programs, 62 were nursing and medical clinic programs, and 39 were dental health and medicine programs. Additionally, there were 21 health and nutrition awareness programs, 25 optometry programs, 15 medical laboratory programs, and 10 radiology programs, along with 5 first aid programs. Furthermore, 20 training courses were conducted. A veterinary convoy was also deployed to treat livestock and provide veterinary consultation to their owners, in addition to entertainment activities, gifts, and prizes offered by the campaign.
Adding that approximately 400 university staff and students participated in presenting and implementing these programs, and the number of daily beneficiaries in this campaign ranged from about 5,000 from various segments of society.
Through this campaign, the university aims to provide its community services through all its branches and specializations. Community service is one of the pillars of the university's national mission and its responsibility towards the nation and society. This comes as a continuation of the series of comprehensive campaigns that the university implemented in the past four editions, in Abanat, which benefited more than 10,000 people, and Uqlat as Suqoor, which benefited more than 15,000 people, and Dhareyah, which benefited more than 20,000 people, and in Quba Center, which benefited more than 30,000 beneficiaries.
