His Excellency Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan, a member of the Council of Senior Scholars and a member of the Permanent Committee for Fatwa, stressed that legitimate jihad continues in this nation until the resurrection of the hour, but he stressed that this can only be done according to legitimate conditions, the most important of which is that it is under the hand of a Muslim imam and must not deviate from this condition even if the imam is unjust, pointing out that jihad by groups is sedition and bloodshed and has no benefit behind it.
This came during his meeting with the students of Qassim University this morning at the open meeting organized by the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at the university in cooperation with the Deanship of Student Affairs in the presence of the Acting President of the University, Prof. Dr. Sulaiman bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya, the Vice President of the University, Prof. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Omar, the Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof. Ali bin Mohammed Al-Khalaf Al-Saif, the Dean of the College of Sharia, Dr. Walid Ali Al-Hussein, faculty members of the college and a large number of students and university affiliates.
His Excellency started the meeting, which was moderated by the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Ali Al-Aqla, by warning against the sedition of suspicion, which is the destruction of nations, pointing out that the university is the eyes of the university to respond to these dangers through science, pointing out that seditions, evils and suspicions are responded with useful knowledge.
His Excellency also urged the students to adhere to the Sunnah and unity of the ranks, and that the society looks at you with respect and expects you to carry out the tasks of reforming religion and the world and reforming society, especially at this time with the influx of doubts and the enemies and spreading evil, because students of knowledge are the ones who fulfill this important role and society expects from you what is not expected from others to stand in front of the enemies and counter their doubts, and if you are not armed with useful knowledge, you will be defeated in the first test.
Sheikh Al-Fouzan also warned against the Kharijites who spread sedition and disparage the rulers of the Muslims and the command to oppose them, and we must teach them if they accept learning, otherwise it is obligatory for the Imam of the Muslims to fight them as ordered by the Prophet because they are evil for Islam and Muslims, as they disperse the group and spread strife, and their danger is great and they are more dangerous than the infidels, even if they pray and fast and read the Quran.
After that, the students and attendees were given the opportunity to ask many legal and scientific questions, which were answered by His Excellency Sheikh Saleh Al-Fouzan.
His Excellency Sheikh Al-Fouzan praised Qassim University and its achievements, development and expansion throughout the region, pointing out that he lived a time when we dreamed of having a university like this prestigious university in this region, which was made possible only by the grace of God and then the interest of the leadership of this blessed country in spreading education and urging to seek knowledge. He expressed his happiness with what he heard and saw of the development in the university city that reflects the outstanding performance of the university administration and the people of the region as national competencies that the community and the country are proud of, wishing success and success for the university in its journey to fortify students with useful knowledge in various sciences and fields.
The Acting President of the University, Dr. Suleiman Al-Yahya, welcomed His Excellency to the university and presented him with a brief overview of the university and the stages of its development and achievements. He also presented the university's gift to Sheikh Al-Fouzan, which was a documentary book of the university 1424-1437 AH, which tells the stages of establishment, development and achievements of the university from its inception to the present day.
