With the support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and to stimulate digital entrepreneurship in the Kingdom, the Code Lab was inaugurated at the University in the presence of His Excellency the Governor of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CSTC), Dr. Mohammed bin Saud Al Tamimi, and His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Daoud, yesterday, December 25, 2022, which is the third Code Lab for Digital Entrepreneurship and one of the six branches of the Digital Entrepreneurship Center, which the University established on its campus to contribute to the operational phase of the project, in a move to stimulate entrepreneurship and improve the ecosystem for digital entrepreneurship to create a balanced environment. 

 

The Qassim University Code Lab aims to incubate digital projects, empower startups in the technical field, increase the number of investments, stimulate the culture of entrepreneurship in the fields of digital innovation through workshops and events, increase the contribution of startups to the GDP, improve the contribution of GDP to the digital economy, and increase the adoption rate of emerging technologies.

 

This lab contributes to the process of linking experts and faculty members on the one hand and beneficiaries and entrepreneurs on the other, in terms of providing the use of various technologies and technical devices to enable them to manufacture and create their own business models, and participate in technical meetings and courses for those wishing to develop their skills, by providing equipment, technical tools and shared work spaces to incubate the best university projects and emerging technology companies in the region.

During the visit, Their Excellencies and Excellencies were briefed on the laboratory's facilities, in addition to the projects of the university students in an innovative exhibition, through a number of corners that showcased the projects of the university students in the main lobby of the university city.
