Qassim University joins the Saudi Unified Catalog "Indexes" King Fahd National Library

Qassim University, represented by the Deanship of Library Affairs, has joined the Saudi Unified Catalog "Faharas" with King Fahd National Library, today, Thursday corresponding to 19/2/1444 AH. The signing ceremony took place at the library's headquarters in Riyadh, in the presence of His Excellency the Vice-Rector for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid Bani Al-Harbi, and His Excellency the Acting Secretary-General of the Library, Mr. Suleiman Yousef Al-Masoud.

 

The membership agreement was signed on behalf of the university by the Director General of Libraries, Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Muhaymid, and on behalf of the library by the Director General of the Saudi National Bibliography, Mr. Othman bin Mohammed Al-Asmari, within the framework of the university's endeavor to develop the working system and services provided by libraries to male and female students.

 

The King Fahd National Library aims for the Unified Saudi Catalog "Faharis" to contribute to the qualification of various libraries and information institutions within the Kingdom, and to develop the human resources of these libraries by preparing and developing training and qualification programs and supervision. This enhances the Kingdom's effective contribution to international bibliographic projects and information organization, which is considered one of the most important programs in developing and serving Saudi libraries and information centers of all types, as it offers its services to all member beneficiaries.

 

The "Faharas" project also seeks to serve culture and develop Saudi libraries, keeping pace with contemporary knowledge in light of scientific and technological developments and the growing needs of users to provide effective and impactful services, especially regarding Saudi intellectual production and cooperation among all Saudi libraries and information centers.
