University aims to plant 15,000 trees in the ninth phase of the "Qassim Green Earth" campaign

The university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs and in cooperation with the General Administration of Maintenance, launched its participation in the ninth phase of the "Green Qassim" initiative two days ago, Wednesday, 20/8/1443 AH. The initiative was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Meshal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim, in conjunction with Environment Week. The university's participation includes planting more than 15,000 trees with the involvement of over 60 male and female students.

 

His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, also inaugurated the accompanying exhibition, which includes 18 stands, with the participation of the General Administration of Maintenance and Services, the Sustainability Center, the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, volunteer clubs, and student sustainability from the Deanship of Student Affairs. The exhibition includes a review of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's efforts in combating desertification, the Crown Prince's "Saudi Green Initiative," and the "Middle East Green Initiative.".

 

The various pillars of the exhibition address the discussion of the university's and students" efforts to preserve the environment and national achievements, as well as learning about the appropriate environment for agriculture, tree diseases and methods of preserving them, the harms of excessive logging and the use of alternative firewood, in addition to reviewing information about HH the Emir of Al-Qassim region's campaign "Green Al-Qassim Land" from its inception to its current stage.
