It included 26 corners to introduce the history of the Saudi state. UQU President inaugurates "Foundation Day" exhibition

His Excellency Professor Dr. Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Dawood, President of the University, opened the university's exhibition on Wednesday, 29/7/1443 AH, commemorating the Founding Day. The exhibition is organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs in the Main Hall of the University City. The opening was attended by His Excellency the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sharikh, His Excellency the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Turki, His Excellency the Vice President for Planning, Development, and Quality, Professor Dr. Khalid Al-Harbi, and a number of members of the University Council.

 

The exhibition, which included a number of male and female students, featured 26 diverse booths introducing the Founding Day, the history of Diriyah, and the Saudi state. It also included a simulation and embodiment of the market and majlis of that era, in addition to a special booth on academic life in Diriyah during the founding period, writing tools, and knowledge preservation, as well as a special booth for the artistic works of female students. The exhibition included 48 artworks with the participation of 6 female student artists for live drawing.

 

His Excellency the President of the University toured the exhibition after its opening, visiting its sections. He saw the museum of educational tools and materials from the First Saudi State, and listened to an explanation from Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Saykhan, a faculty member in the Department of History at the College of Arabic Language and Social Studies. He explained the different sections of the exhibition, which showcased the Royal Order regarding the Founding Day, the history of the Saudi state, details of the Founding Day emblem, the difference between Founding Day and National Day, and details of the Founding Day emblem's elements: the palm tree, horses, falcons, and the flag during the era of the First Saudi State.

 

The exhibition also covered the most prominent events of the founding, as well as the founder Imam Muhammad bin Saud, his most significant achievements, the capital Diriyah, the roots of the founding, centers of stability, the most prominent princes of the Emirate of Diriyah, the founding society, intellectual life, the culture of the founding, the Ardah Saudi, the market during the First Saudi State, and the founding in the words of the kings.
